Fox and NBC had a music-and-comedy prime-time clash Tuesday night with the Peacock strutting away the clear victor. NBC’s new sitcoms About a Boy and Growing Up Fisher made their time-period debuts fueled by The Voice while Fox’s comedy block included the soft return of Glee and the latest New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

The Voice had 13 million viewers for its Tuesday premiere at 8 p.m. with a 3.7 rating, down 10 percent from last year. That helped lift About a Boy to 8.3 million and a 2.4 rating and Fisher to 7 million and a 2.0 rating — quite good since both episodes were repeats of their post-Olympics previews from over the weekend. Boy actually outperformed its post-Olympics preview rating while Fisher matched it.

On Fox, Glee returned to only 2.9 million viewers and a 1.2 rating, going into New Girl (2.8 million, 1.4) and Brooklyn (2.6 million, 1.3). Despite these numbers, all three shows are actually up slightly from their previous episodes.

CBS’ drama block was all down between 16 and 21 percent, with NCIS hitting a season low, NCIS: LA tying its series low and POI falling to a new series low. ABC’s Bachelor special was solid, while new drama Mind Games tanked, falling 21 percent from the premiere of Zero Hour (remember that one?) in this slot last season.
