Fox’s ratings-challenged drama Rake will get a new berth on Fridays while Hell’s Kitchen will replace take over its old timeslot starting March 13.
The Gordon Ramsay show, now in its 12th season, will serve as a lead-in to the results show of American Idol, which will now air at 9.
Rake will bow on Fridays at 8 beginning March 14 and will be followed by original episodes of Enlisted and Raising Hope. An original of Rake will air this Thursday and is set to star Anthony Anderson as an old friend of Keegan (Kinnear).
Rake — not to mention Idol — got raked by the Olympics on NBC. Last week, Rake posted a 1.0 rating in 18-49 and a mere 4 million viewers. Idol, meanwhile, sank to a series low 2.9 rating and 9.1 million viewers.
When the Idol results shows scale back to half-hour installments beginning March 27, Fox will air Surviving Jack, a new comedy starring Chris Meloni, at 9:30.
