NBC's 'Believe': Watch the first two minutes

What perfect timing for Gravity director Alfonso Cuaron’s Oscar win! The newly minted Best Director will see his next project, NBC’s sci-fi drama Believe, premiere just over a week after the Academy Awards were held. And in the video below, featuring the first two minutes of the pilot that Cuaron co-wrote and directed, NBC is not shy in hyping the talent behind the camera:

What we learned:

1. J.J. Abrams also serves as executive producer on Believe, but he just got promotionally usurped by Cuaron and his new hardware.

2. The little girl Bo (Johnny Sequoyah), whom we know from Believe‘s commercials has powers including levitation, telekinesis, and the ability to control nature, can also write pretty songs in her dreams — and then remember and sing them after she wakes up. (Jealous.)

3. Cuaron gives us a harrowing point-of-view shot of a crash, not unlike what we saw from him in Gravity.

4. Like all good young, sci-fi/fantasy heroes, Bo is minus a parent (or both). At least, she quickly becomes an orphan, thanks to a shadowy task force.

Believe premieres March 10 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
