The Good Wife saw a ratings surge Sunday night for a shocking episode.
Last night’s hour had 8.9 million viewers and a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49, the legal drama’s best rating since January. While fans didn’t know the dramatic event was coming, Nielsen counts DVR playback until well after midnight, so it’s quite possible that the numbers climbed as word started to spread via social media about a big twist involving Josh Charles’ character — or it could be that some sports overrun that delayed CBS’ primetime are somewhat skewing these early numbers. At any rate, Charles will be on CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman Monday night, and here’s more from EW on the twist.
Meanwhile, NBC’s new dramas Crisis and Believe were both down about 20 percent from last week. So was ABC’s new drama Resurrection (but it was still about double the NBC shows). Fox’s Cosmos fell another 15 percent.
