Earlier this week, Chelsea Handler posted a photo on her Instagram of a large dog sitting on her lap — but the dog isn’t what got people talking. It was the CBS logo on the piece of paper Handler’s holding in the photo that sparked rumors she was in talks with the network for a new talk show.
With all the recent changes in late night TV, Handler had been one of the names being tossed around as a replacement for David Letterman — before Stephen Colbert was officially named last week. But, Handler squashed those CBS rumors on The Ellen Degeneres Show Thursday saying she has no plans to go on a regular network.
“I would never go to CBS,” Handler said. “My mouth? What would they do with me there?”
Handler’s E! show Chelsea Lately is ending its eight-year run this year, and the comedian further confirmed in a tweet Thursday that she’s not planning on taking Colbert’s seat on Comedy Central after her show ends.
I have never had nor will have any desire to take a job someone else has already had. Speculation to the contrary is inaccurate. Godspeed—
