NBC has said “I do” to Happy Endings star Casey Wilson and her fiance/Happy creator David Caspe. In its first comedy pilot pickup of the season, the network picked up the single-camera comedy Marry Me to series on Tuesday. The story revolves around an inseparable longtime couple, Annie (Wilson) and Jake (Childrens Hospital‘s Ken Marino), who return from a two-week island vacation, and after a botched proposal plan, they decide to put off getting engaged until they can get it together.

Sarah Wright, John Gemberling, Tymberlee Hill, and Tim Meadows are also in the cast. Caspe is serving as executive producer/writer on Marry Me.

NBC is picking up the series ahead of its upfront presentation to advertisers next week. More series orders are expected shortly.

The network had previously ordered the newly titled Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which stars The Office‘s Ellie Kemper as a woman who escapes from a doomsday cult and begins her new life in New York City. The show is being written and executive-produced by 30 Rock‘s Tina Fey and Robert Carlock.
