Big Brother is veto-ing standard definition.

The new season of the CBS reality show, which will begin airing its 16th cycle on June 25, will finally be broadcast in high definition, EW has confirmed. Big Brother was previously the only regularly scheduled primetime program still shown in standard definition.

The hold-up for the change likely had to do with how the show is shot. “It’s not just about swapping out cameras,” co-executive producer Rich Meehan told Vulture. “Everything had to be changed … and we couldn’t do anything that would jeopardize production of the series.”

No word on if, along with the camera upgrade, this season’s contestants will be getting an (attitude) upgrade as well.
