InsideTV Podcast: How to fix 'American Idol.' Plus: Sizing up 'Bachelorette' villains and the 'Glee' finale

Phillip Philips just won American Idol! Of course, we could have pretty much predicted that result when we first laid eyes on him back in January. That’s because Phillips is now the fifth straight white-guy-playing-guitar to win the show (along with David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, and Scotty McCreery). But predictability in terms of winners is just one of the problems plaguing a show which lost around 30 percent of its audience from just a year ago. Are the contestants to blame? The judges? The format? On the newest edition of the InsideTV Podcast, Jessica Shaw and I brainstorm ideas to help the reality competition show get back on track. READ FULL STORY »

'Celebrity Apprentice': Arsenio Hall talks about Trump's verdict, being reunited with Aubrey O'Day, and fending off angry Claymates

Arsenio Hall and Clay Aiken entered the Celebrity Apprentice finale on Sunday night as BFFs. But only one would exit a champion. When all was said and done, a cacophony of woofing enveloped America as dog pounds from coast to coast erupted in chants and cheers upon the naming of Arsenio Hall as the new Celebrity Apprentice. What was his key to victory? What happened with Aubrey O’Day at the finale? How does he feel about now incurring the eternal wrath of angry Claymates? And what are his post-Apprentice plans? We talked with the winner on Monday morning to get the full scoop.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: It seems congratulations are in order.
ARSENIO HALL: What an exciting feeling! And I know everybody thinks orgasm trumps everything, but nothing trumps this!

Have you slept at all?
Yeah. You know what, I figured part of my first duty as Celebrity Apprentice was to not go out and get drunk, and wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to show him that he made the right choice. The worst thing I could do would be to wake up in the back of Scores. READ FULL STORY »

InsideTVPodcast: Clay Aiken and Arsenio Hall dish on the 'Celebrity Apprentice' finale and their feuds with Aubrey O'Day and Dayana Mendoza

Either Clay Aiken or Arsenio Hall will be crowned the Celebrity Apprentice champion on Sunday night. But it’s not a final grilling by Donald Trump they have to worry about — it’s an InsideTV Podcast grilling from yours truly! The two finalists stopped by to talk all about the big finale and to also look back at the highs and lows of another crazy Celebrity Apprentice season. Can Arsenio find one redeeming quality in Aubrey O’Day? Does Clay regret his treatment of Dayana Mendoza on the show during the Good Sam jingle task? And did Clay have sex with Lisa Lampanelli? Wait…WHAT?!? It’s that kind of podcast, with lots of unexpected twists, turns, and bleeped out words you are not supposed to say on a family-friendly podcast. Before all is said and done, we’ll be reminiscing about the glory days of Chunky A and Clay’s unfortunate performance of “Grease” on American Idol. If you’re fan of Celebrity Apprentice, or just a fan of listening to two smart and funny guys constantly and consistently cracking each other up, then this is the podcast for you. READ FULL STORY »

'Celebrity Apprentice': Get ready for my favorite picture ever and a truly bizarre finale entrance by Donald Trump -- EXCLUSIVE PHOTO

I have to apologize. I would have posted this sooner, but I was incapacitated for a good half hour due to excessive laughter brought on by the sight of the following photo. I can’t really explain why I find it so funny, but it just is. Well, take a look for yourself and then we can discuss… READ FULL STORY »

'Celebrity Apprentice': See Lisa Lampanelli roast Clay Aiken and Donald Trump in the finale -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

They don’t call her the Queen of Mean for nothing, people. Lisa Lampanelli may have berated poor Dayana Mendoza on a regular basis during this season of The Celebrity Apprentice, but perhaps the notorious roaster was just using that as a warm-up for her main event. And that main event occurs this Sunday evening during The Celebrity Apprentice finale when she performs at Arsenio Hall’s big charity event. Will she keep it clean? HELL NO! In this exclusive clip, Lisa does not hold back when she addresses topics such as Clay Aiken’s sexuality and Donald Trump’s oh-so-unique hairline. How far will she go? And how will Clay and Trump — who are both standing right there — react? Click on the video player below to see for yourself. 'Celebrity Apprentice': Aubrey O'Day talks Fidel Castro, her controversial comments about Arsenio Hall, and why she should not have been fired

She was one of the most polarizing characters in Celebrity Apprentice history — a remarkable feat when you consider some of the people that have done time on that show. But Aubrey O’Day’s quest for the Celebrity Apprentice crown came to an end last night when Donald Trump fired her — leaving Clay Aiken and Arsenio Hall to battle it out for the title. Never one to be shy with her opinions, Aubrey now looks back at her time on the program. Does she regret being so aggressive and domineering? What about calling Arsenio Hall “the biggest girl on this show?” And can we finally get to the bottom of what she was doing chillin’ with Fidel Castro? We can! Ladies and gentleman, Aubrey O’Day — unfiltered. Prepare yourselves.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Should you have been in the final two, Aubrey?
AUBREY O’DAY: Absolutely. I mean, just in watching last night when Trump asked us all why, I was the only one out of the three of us to say that I was the strongest player there. I mean, it’s a confidence factor, it’s just a fact. I worked the hardest, I had the most ideas, and the thing about this show is it’s not a show about building teams. It’s not a show about a team winning. It’s a show about one person winning. It’s a show about one person being able to be the most effective leader, and you know, there is no I in team, but there is an I in leadership, and that is what this show is about. With Danity Kane and Making The Band, it was about the group, which is why you always saw me fighting so hard for the group or fighting for what the group needed or doing what was best for the group in that scenario. But in this specific scenario, I never went in it wanting to make friends or thinking that anyone was really my friend, because that’s never the case in situations like this. You’re lucky if you walk out of it with someone that you enjoy spending time with. READ FULL STORY »

'Survivor: One World': Winner Kim Spradlin reveals how she did it, her worst move, and what happened to that hidden immunity idol

Eighteen players vied for the million dollars on Survivor: One World this season, but in truth, 17 of them never really stood a chance. 29-year-old bridal shop owner Kim Spradlin turned Samoa into her own personal domination station, and in the end, the jury said “I do” when voting to give her the victory. (Only bitter Troy and confused Leif opted to vote for runner-up Sabrina instead.) Now $1,100,000 richer after winning both the game and the fan favorite vote, Kim took a few minutes out from her sleepless morning to dissect her own game and reveal whether she would consider doing it all over again.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: First question: Where’s the hidden immunity idol you never used?
KIM SPRADLIN
: You know what? I gave it to Troy! I thought about bringing it out at the final Tribal Council and be like “Hey I had this since day 12 and never even needed it to play it,” but I decided that sort of felt like pouring salt on the wound for people that felt betrayed. So as soon as I got back to Ponderosa that first night I gave it to Troy because I thought it might mean the most to him out of everyone there. READ FULL STORY »

'Survivor: One World': Jeff Probst breaks down the finale; calls season 'a bit of a letdown'

Each week, host Jeff Probst answers a few questions about the most recent episode of Survivor: One World.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Kim really dominated in all three facets of the game — social, strategic, and physical. Where does she stack up when compared to other people that have dominated from start to finish like Tom Westman and Boston Rob?
JEFF PROBST: That’s a good question. I actually think Kim is in the top grouping of winners. She was great at the social game. So many faces and great at reading a situation and equally good at stopping a disaster before it starts. The challenge with Kim is she is not as dynamic — ie, she’s normal. She did it all without raising any fuss at all and so though one of the nicest and most well rounded players, she may be less remembered than others. 'Survivor: Philippines': Jeff Probst explains the big twist for next season

When Survivor starts back up again in the fall with its 25th season, it will be in a brand new location: the Philippines. Survivor: Philippines recently wrapped filming in the Caramoan Islands, and at the end of the Survivor: One World reunion show, host Jeff Probst revealed both the location and the show’s big twist — that there will be three returning players, each of whom was medically evacuated in a previous season. Each returning player will be on a different tribe, meaning the show is moving back to a three-tribe format for the first time since season Survivor: All Stars back in season 8. READ FULL STORY »

InsideTV Podcast: Who is the ultimate 'Game of Thrones' villain? Plus, picking winners for 'Survivor,' 'American Idol' and 'DWTS'

Theon! What are you doing? We used to like you! But then you attacked Winterfell and starting chopping off people’s heads…badly. Does Theon’s betrayal make him the ultimate Game of Thrones villain, or does he still pale in comparison to that super jerk King Joffrey and the shadow assassin-birthing Melisandre? Our resident Game of Thrones expert James Hibberd joins Jessica Shaw and yours truly on the newest edition of the InsideTV Podcast to break down who is the baddest of the bad right now on the HBO drama. We also discuss the big dragon-napping, how long it actually takes to pull a man’s arm off, and whether we are permanently scarred from seeing Tonks naked. READ FULL STORY »

'Celebrity Apprentice': Clue to final challenge revealed as Adam Carolla is scared off by a giant fake [NSFW] -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

We still don’t know who will be the final two battling it out to win The Celebrity Apprentice, but we now have a clue as to at least part of the task that will help determine the winner. In this exclusive clip from Sunday’s episode, Adam Carolla — one of several fired celebs brought back to assist on the final project — mentions that they need to put together a 30 second public service announcement. While we aren’t told what the PSA is for, we do get to see Adam and Teresa Giudice embark on a shopping spree at a local costume shop. And something they find there seems to greatly disturb the comedian. Then again, if a creepy costume shop guy tried to get me to enter a “conjugal visit” dungeon littered with giant penis statues, I too might think twice. To enjoy the type of wonderfully absurd encounter you can only find on Celebrity Apprentice, click on the video below. And for more reality ramblings you can follow me on Twitter @DaltonRoss. Jeff Probst on episode 13 of 'Survivor: One World'

Each week, host Jeff Probst answers a few questions about the most recent episode of Survivor: One World.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: While I’m tempted to begin by asking you the last time you wore women’s panties on your head, let’s go with this instead: At this point in time, from your perspective, did Kim and the other ladies make a mistake in keeping Chelsea and ousting Tarzan? Chelsea sure seems like a much bigger threat to win both challenges and jury votes.
JEFF PROBST: No. I think Tarzan wins the game if he makes final 3. I would have gotten rid of him at this point too. READ FULL STORY »
