Cougar Town not only has a new network, it has a new showrunner to match.

Ric Swartzlander (Gary Unmarried) has signed on as an executive producer and will oversee the cul-de-sac comedy in its fourth season — and first on TBS. The news comes on the heels of series co-creator/exec producer Bill Lawrence’s confirmation that he and co-creator Kevin Biegel were no longer planning to run the series, which aired for three seasons on ABC. Lawrence, who’s married to Cougar Town star Christa Miller, assured fans on Twitter last week that he and Biegel weren’t fully letting go of their Big Carls, quipping: “My wife is on the show — you think she’ll let me disappear? Please.” Lawrence will serve as an executive producer and executive consultant on Cougar Town while developing new projects for Warner Bros. TV, with whom he signed a deal last year. Biegel will act as consulting producer. Swartzlander’s other credits include Samantha Who? and 8 Simple Rules.

Simpsons fans who have been awaiting the show’s return to the big screen, you may now let out a short, silent “Woo Hoo!”: A four-and-a-half-minute dialogue-free film, titled The Longest Daycare, will be shown before Ice Age: Continental Drift when that movie hits theaters on July 13. (There’s a little history between these two Fox franchises: The trailer for 2007′s The Simpsons Movie was stealthily placed before Ice Age: The Meltdown.)

Teased at the end of the season 23 finale on Sunday, the short marks The Simpsons’ first 3-D adventure (not counting the exploits of “3-D Homer” in Treehouse of Horror VI).  ”[Executive producer] Jim Brooks thought we should do an animated short — a la the ones Pixar does before their features, a la the cartoons you used to see in the theater years ago — as a fun thing to give our fans,” executive producer Al Jean tells EW. “We just wanted to do this as a way of saying, ‘We appreciate how much people have stayed with the show and watched it for 25 years.”

Watch Lisa make Lady Gaga cry on 'The Simpsons' -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Lady Gaga is coming to Springfield this Sunday? To paraphrase Mr. Burns: “Eggcellent!”

Seriously, she’s bringing the egg (er, vessel) — along with 18 different costumes and who knows what else — to the season finale of Fox’s The Simpsons. How exactly does the monster pop star wind up in town? When Lisa’s scheme to boost her popularity at school goes horribly wrong, Gaga, who happens to be chugging past Springfield on the Gaga Express, magically intuits that her help is needed. She’s determined to cheer up Lisa — and the rest of Springfield — by all means necessary, including through song and flash mob. In this clip from the episode, you will see that Lisa isn’t exactly going gaga for Gaga, and that hurts Gaga’s feelings. And when Gaga’s feelings get hurt, something priceless happens.

It’s D-Day. Or rather, E-Day. Will the citizens of Pawnee reward Leslie Knope’s hard work with a plush city council seat on election day, or will they force her to sit on a metaphorical whoopee cushion? We shall find out tonight on “Win, Lose, or Draw,” the season finale of Parks and Recreation (NBC, 9:30 p.m.).  ”What’s nice about this episode is that it’s not just about Leslie’s election,” notes Parks executive producer Michael Schur. “Every character has an emotional situation that they’re dealing with. You won’t be disappointed if you’re looking for that kind of story line. Also, Jean-Ralphio (Ben Schwartz) is in it. So if you’re looking for something else, we have something for you too.”

Schur provided EW with nine other hints about the finale, which you can read below: READ FULL STORY »
