Wait, is the new gal dead already?
It will sure look that way when Elisabeth Shue begins her stint on CSI this Wednesday. But all is not as it seems. EW obtained an exclusive first look at Shue’s debut — and it looks bloody good.

If you live on the west coast, chances are you probably already knew that Adele was the big winner at the Grammys before the CBS show aired on a tape delay at 8 p.m. Between social media and the round-the-clock Web coverage of entertainment, there’s no element of surprise left for Pacific coast music fans — but that won’t stop the most-watched network from waiting until prime time to air the awards show.
Why?
There’s little incentive. READ FULL STORY »

UPDATED: Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich announced that Jennifer Hudson will perform a Whitney Houston tribute at the Grammys Sunday.
Within hours of the announcement of Houston’s death, talks were underway to honor the singer during the show that airs live from the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. It will air on CBS.
“We are all pretty devastated, it hit us pretty hard,” Ehrlich said in a statement released by CBS. “We were in the middle of our rehearsal and the news started going around. As you know she was very closely associated with the Grammys, both as a performer and as a Grammy winner and a lot of us who worked on the show worked with her a number of times. So it’s a very sad day for us it’s going to be tough to recover from. But we go on with the show.”
Some of Grammys’ most memorable moments over the years have involved numbers that were planned at the 11th hour. In 1998, Aretha Franklin took the stage to perform the aria “Nessun Dorma” to cover for the ailing Luciano Pavarotti. She was asked on the night of the show and no one knew what to expect.
Her performance was met with thunderous applause.

After earning 10(!!) Kids Choice Awards, Will Smith will finally take his rightful place on stage as host of the annual awards fete, airing March 31 on Nick.
The film star couldn’t be hosting at a better time: It’s the 25th anniversary of the KCAs, which honor favorite TV and film actors, as well as musicians and athletes. (Winners are selected by viewers).
To get the party started, EW obtained an exclusive first look of the first KCA promo featuring Smith and Nicki Minaj.
Git ready for the “backcountry feud that became a legend!”
Beginning on Memorial Day, the History Channel will debut the original series Hatfields & McCoys, a three-parter starring Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton. Lots of good-ol-boy garb in this here clip, but them thar men are used to playing rough and ready dudes. (Remember how Costner portrayed the title role in Wyatt Earp and Paxton played an Earp brother in Tombstone?).
Jon Voight and Elliott Gould will join the cast of the drama pilot Ray Donovan, the Liev Schreiber starrer that’s in development for Showtime. It’s about a “professional trouble shooter” in Los Angeles named Ray (Schreiber) who’s replied upon to solve the complicated, confidential and controversial problems of the city’s elite.
Voight will play Ray’s father Mickey Donovan, a “newly freed ex-convict who heads to Los Angeles with suspicious intentions to reconnect with his estranged family.” Gould will portray a recurring guest star named Ezra Goodman, a senior partner at a law firm who also serves as Ray’s mentor and confidante.
The drama pilot is from Ann Biderman (Southland). Production is set to begin soon in Los Angeles.

Rather than keep viewers in suspense for tonight’s episode, a Fox spokeswoman said today that Black is fine, though she required treatment for dehydration. The talented teen was treated by on-site medics and continued her auditions during Hollywood Week.
The episode prompted a wave of sympathy — and cynicism — from Idol viewers who went from accusing Fox of exploiting the teen to believing Black faked the whole thing to curry support (huh?). A source close to the show insists the fall was real.
As for the way the episode was cut, rule one of TV promotion is this: When life gives you a pratfall, make pratfall lemonade. Had Black sustained serious injuries, it’s unlikely that Fox would have made such a pearl-clutching cliffhanger. (At least, we think).

In preparation for Cougar Town’s Feb. 14 return date, Creator Bill Lawrence put together a nifty highlight reel — spoilers and all — for the new season. Among them: Some hottie refers to his body as “the truth” while another uses the name “Prince Charles” to indicate a fierce desire to hurl.

Will 2012 finally be the year that Sarah Chalke headlines her own successful TV show?
ABC is going to try to make it happen for fall: The network has cast the Scrubs vet in How to Live with Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life, a comedy pilot from Claudia Lonow (Friends with Benefits). Chalke will play Polly, a recently divorced single mom moves in with her eccentric parents, Elaine and Max, a couple who are full of life but know no boundaries.
In 2010, Chalke headlined the short-lived CBS comedy Mad Love. She also memorably recurred on How I Met Your Mother as Stella while starring on Scrubs, the Bill Lawrence comedy that wrapped two years ago.
ABC tried to find a comedy for Chalke in 2010 by giving her the starring role in the ABC sitcom pilot Freshman, which never saw the light of day.
