'Chuck' ironic premiere clip slams 'boring' baseball! -- EXCLUSIVE

Tags: , , News, Scoop

This is so perfect. Here’s a funny exclusive clip from tonight’s Chuck premiere where Morgan talks about baseball being “soooo boring.” Of course, the Chuck team didn’t know that it’s season opener would face Game 7 of the World Series following a progression of unforeseen events that played out like something from a Final Destination movie (including a rain out, NBC changing the show’s premiere date and the championship having a seventh game for the first time since 2002).

Chuck returns tonight at 8 p.m. and then NBC airs the series premiere of supernatural detective drama Grimm. The setup for the clip: Chuck’s friend Morgan now possesses the all-powerful Intersect talent– but hasn’t learned how to control it. Watch below:

'True Blood' reunion coming to ABC's 'GCB' -- EXCLUSIVE

GRANT-BOWLER

Two guys from True Blood are set to spice up ABC’s midseason drama GCB. Kevin Alejandro and Grant Bowler both signed deals to appear in the show’s debut season, and will even share an episode.

GCB (formally titled Good Christian Bitches Belles) has cast Alejandro as Danny — a local butcher who offers to supply meat for Booby-licious (that’s a Hooters-like restaurant in the show) on the condition that Marisol Nichols’ character Heather goes on a date with him.

Alejandro is in one episode, while Bowler will appear in at least two — playing Mason Massey, a “frozen foods magnate and thoroughbred horse breeder.” Sparks fly when Bowler meets with Cricket (Miriam Shor) to negotiate stud fee for his prize horse.

Booby-licious? Dating for brisket? TV dinner-making horse breeders? Okay, these descriptions have us really intrigued. GCB is from Robert Harling (Steel Magnolias) and producer Darren Star (Sex and the City). There’s no premiere date yet, but here’s the show’s trailer: READ FULL STORY »

Alloy Entertainment — the minds behind teen series Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, The Secret Circle, and many more — is currently producing a new web series, Dating Rules From My Future Self, which is adding several new cast members. EW has exclusively learned that Taylor Kinney (The Vampire Diaries), Alison Becker (Parks and Recreation), Mircea Monroe (Episodes), and Bryce Johnson (Pretty Little Liars) have joined the cast alongside the sole star so far, Life Unexpected‘s Shiri Appleby (pictured here), who is also producing with Alloy’s Josh Bank, Bob Levy, and Tripp Reed.

The nine-episode series — which will premiere in January — is being directed by Elizabeth Allen (90210, The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl) and is an original concept from Alloy that follows a 29-year-old woman (Appleby) who gets text messages from herself 10 years in the future that serve as warnings that she has to change her dating tactics or she’ll end up alone and unhappy. Dating Rules is Alloy’s sixth web series, and the company is currently webcasting First Day 2: First Dance and Wendy.

'Walking Dead' writer Robert Kirkman talks last night's episode: 'Bloodletting'

“Bloodletting” is a title you could give to pretty much any episode of AMC’s gore-drenched, zombie-filled Walking Dead. But it was a particularly apt one for Sunday night’s show, which found the stricken Carl (Chandler Riggs) being given transfusions of the red stuff from his father Rick (Andrew Lincoln) following the young ‘un’s shooting at the end of the season premiere. Said transfusions took place on a farm belonging to new character Hershel (Scott Wilson), a venue that seems likely to be the characters’ base for the next few episodes (at least those who can get there alive. IronE Singleton’s T-Dog was looking rather peaky by end of the show and heaven knows what’s happened to Madison Lintz’s Sophia).

Below, Robert Kirkman — who pens the Walking Dead comic and is one of the show’s writers — talks about the episode, why Shane (Jon Bernthal) is “a good guy,” and his enthusiasm for the idea of a Walking Dead breakfast cereal. READ FULL STORY »

An X Files veteran and former Seattle Grace bigwig is signing onto TNT’s Dallas.

Mitch Pileggi has joined the show for a multi-episode arc playing Harris Ryland, owner of Ryland Trucking and Shipping. He’s described as an “alpha male” and Ann’s (Brenda Strong) ex-husband.

Since his role as FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner on X Files, Pileggi has been the king of multi-episode arcs on hit series. He’s had stints on Sons of Anarchy, Supernatural, Medium, and Grey’s Anatomy. TNT’s Dallas was recently rocked by the news that co-star Larry Hagman has been diagnosed with cancer. But the actor best known for the original 1980s version of Dallas is still expected to participate in new show, which is set to premiere next summer. If you haven’t yet seen the Dallas trailer, you can find it here.

'Community' scoop: '3rd Rock' star to visit cast

french-stewart

No, not 30 Rock3rd Rock, as in 3rd Rock From the Sun.

Former co-star of the NBC hit sitcom, French Stewart, is set to guest star on NBC’s Community this season. Stewart will play Vincent, the owner of a celebrity impersonator service. Vincent was once a celebrity impersonator himself — or he might be French Stewart incognito. Abed (Danny Pudi) wants to cast celebrity look-a-likes to reenact films and finds himself in heavy debt to the menacing Vincent.

The episode will air early next year. Stewart is also providing a voice for Fox’s upcoming new animated comedy Allen Gregory.

'Fear Factor' explosive first photos and premiere date revealed -- EXCLUSIVE

fear-factor-host

EW has found NBC’s secret Fear Factor plans! We had to break into a Van Nuys warehouse and dig through a plexiglass box filled with spiders, but at the bottom we scored the network’s scheduling strategy for the return of the classic reality hit, plus the first photos of the revamped show.

Fear Factor will have a two-hour premiere on Monday, Dec. 12 — taking over the slot after The Sing Off concludes on Dec. 5. Producers have promised a more spectacular edition of the show that takes advantage of modern stunt technology, plus it’s in HD for the first time. Also on board is the show’s original sarcastic host, Joe Rogan (who in the above pic looks more surly than ever).

“The fans of the original show are not going to be disappointed and Rogan is exactly the same — it’s classic, it looks amazing,” says Paul Telegdy, NBC’s president of alternative and late night programming. “I had forgotten why this show has the best title in TV — fear is a primal instinct that you rarely see engaged on television.” READ FULL STORY »

'Glee' scoop: Chord Overstreet in negotiations to return

Fox

Chord Overstreet’s character Sam has been MIA from this season of Glee so far, but there’s a good chance that will change in the coming months: EW has confirmed that Overstreet is in negotiations to return as Sam, a.k.a. “Trouty Mouth,” later this year on the Fox hit. (TV Line first reported the news.)

The hope would be for him to do a handful of episodes and then potentially recur. Sam’s departure was explained in the season three premiere by his father getting a job in another town. But the big question is what this will mean for Amber Riley’s Mercedes, who began dating Sam in the season 2 finale but now has a new boyfriend. Meanwhile, a rep for studio 20th Century Fox would not confirm the news.
