Got anything on Revenge? — Ciara
You may be asking yourself why Jack suddenly becomes friends with a cop (Client List’s Brian Hallisay) after finding himself on the wrong side of the law last season. That’s easy: Jack is actually putting on a badge. However, despite his new position, Charlotte has been unable to forgive him for his part in her kidnapping, which will put them at odds at the annual Memorial Day party. (Oh yes, the party is still happening, it’s just being hosted by someone else while Victoria is in the loony bin.) READ FULL STORY

'About a Boy': Jason Katims, David Walton, and Minnie Driver talk new episodes, upcoming guest stars

When you’re really good at something, it’s easy to have an ego. Jason Katims is really good at taking films, like Friday Night Lights and Parenthood, and turning them into successful shows for NBC.

Luckily, Katims’ ego is in check and he’s moved over to the lighter side with the new comedy About a Boy, based on the 2002 film (which in turn was based on the Nick Hornby novel) about a man-child and the actual child he befriends next door. EW was at a special screening of two upcoming episodes of the series with Katims and stars David Walton and Minnie Driver. The trio talked about exciting guest stars for both FNL and Arrested Development fans, what else to expect for the remainder of the first season, and the creative benefits of working on television versus film. 'Veep' fave cast as Marcus's dad on 'About a Boy' -- EXCLUSIVE

NBC has recruited a Veep VIP to play Marcus’s dad on About a Boy.

EW has learned exclusively that Tony Hale has been tapped to guest star on the upcoming Jason Katims-produced comedy as a character named Hugh Womple, father to Benjamin Stockham’s Marcus and ex to Minnie Driver’s Fiona.

Though never introduced in the 2002 movie version starring Hugh Grant, Marcus’s father was a character who appeared in the book by Nick Hornby, on which both the movie and TV show are based.

Hale is best known for playing neurotic Buster Bluth on Arrested Development and currently appears on HBO’s Veep, playing the vice president’s (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) personal aide.

NBC’s About a Boy, which stars Stockham as the title character and David Walton as man-child Will Freeman, premieres Feb. 22.

'About a Boy' reunites Adrianne Palicki with 'Friday Night Lights' creator

Adrianne Palicki is reuniting with her old Friday Night Lights boss Jason Katims.

EW has confirmed that the former FNL star has booked a guest arc on NBC’s About a Boy, which is executive produced by Katims, playing the love interest of David Walton’s Will, the man-child at the center of the show and of the book by Nick Hornby, on which the series is based. Palicki, who will play a doctor named Samantha Lake, is set to appear in seven episodes.

This is far from the first time Katims has visited his well of FNL talent to populate his new shows. Matt Lauria, Jurnee Smollett, Michael B. Jordan, and Minka Kelly are just a few of the alums who have visited Katims’ other NBC show, Parenthood.

It’s probably for the best that Palicki has waited this long to reunite with Katims, as just last week, he confirmed that both his one-hour drama and forthcoming comedy exist in the same reality. Walton recently had a cameo in an episode of Parenthood, playing his character from About a Boy, and soon, Dax Shepard will also have a cameo appearance on Boy. “I’ve never done anything like that before,” Katims said last week, but “it seemed like a natural thing to do.”

Palicki’s first episode does not yet have an air date. About a Boy premieres Feb. 22.
