Andrew Lincoln says 'The Walking Dead' 'won't be without its share of death this season'

Lest you fret that everyone’s favorite post-apocalyptic zombie drama was going to mellow with age in its fifth season, Andrew Lincoln has some news for you. When discussing The Walking Dead’s penchant for killing off characters during a visit to Entertainment Weekly Radio (SiriusXM, channel 105) at Comic-Con, Lincoln told us “It is an inevitable part of this show. It’s one of the great things, I think, that you have real jeopardy for favorite characters. It won’t be without its share of death this season.” Uh-oh, sounds like some necks may be on the line in season 5…which is not to imply that Rick Grimes is set to continue his gnarly throat-chomping binge (R.I.P., Claimers.)

Lincoln was joined by his castmates Chandler Riggs, Melissa McBride, Emily Kinney and Chad Coleman, along with executive producer Gale Anne Hurd as the group infiltrated the EW Radio studio to discus their latest conquest of Comic-Con, and you can hear the entire conversation right here and right now by clicking on the audio player icon below. (The rest of the cast — Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Michael Cudlitz, as well as producers Scott M. Gimple and Denise Huth — stopped by as well, and you can listen to that visit right here.) READ FULL STORY

See Carol, Judith, and Rick of 'The Walking Dead' in new season 5 images

Last week we brought you an exclusive image from season 5 of The Walking Dead that likely sent shivers up the spines of Daryl Dixon fans, as the resident badass appeared gagged and bound. Now we have some more exclusive episodic images to tide you over.

In the first, we see Melissa McBride’s Carol holding an adorable baby Judith. Sooooo…good news, they’re still alive! When the season starts, that is. After that, who knows? But at least Carol is not telling Judith to “look at the flowers,” because we all know how that ends. Also, Judith does not appear to be a zombie. So that’s a positive…although she does appear to be rocking something of a devilock hairstyle. (Click on the Full Size magnifying glass tab to see a bigger high-res version of the photo.)

But wait, we’re not done. Now, let’s move onto page 2 for a look at what Rick Grimes is up to.

'The Walking Dead': First look at Andrew Lincoln in season 5

Norman Reedus recently shared what he knew about season 5 of The Walking Dead — which was somewhere between “not much” and “I’m not telling.” But filming has since commenced on season 5 and we have our first official look. That’s the good news. Now here is the bad — it doesn’t show much. READ FULL STORY

'The Walking Dead': Andrew Lincoln promises 'we will rain hell upon these Termites!'

[SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched the season finale of The Walking Dead.]

RICK GRIMES IS BACK!!! There will be no more of this put down the gun and pick up the garden hoe nonsense. The transformation of Rick back into a fearless leader was complete right around the time in last night’s season 4 Walking Dead finale when he bit marauder Joe in the neck and then gutted his buddy who was set to do harm to Carl. The survivors will need that newly focused badass considering their current predicament as the season ended with most of the group locked up in a train car by the baddies of Terminus. We spoke with Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln to get his thoughts on the evolution of Rick Grimes this season, filming those flashback scenes with Scott Wilson’s Hershel, that crazy cliffhanger ending, and why he can’t wait to get the battle started in season 5. (Also make sure to read our finale interviews with showrunner Scott M. Gimple and creator Robert Kirkman.)

'The Walking Dead': Andrew Lincoln says Rick is 'in the worst place he's been'

The good news for Rick Grimes is that he is still alive. Annnnnnnnd that’s pretty much it. He had a front row seat to the execution of his good friend Hershel, the Governor beat him within an inch of his life, the prison has been overrun with zombies, and, oh yeah, as far as he knows, his baby daughter Judith just became someone’s afternoon snack. So not exactly what you’d call the best of days so far for Mr. Grimes. (I mean, just look at the photo above for chrissakes!) What happens next? We’ll find out when The Walking Dead returns with season 4’s final eight episodes Feb. 9 on AMC. The first episode back features a battle of wills between Rick and Carl as they seek shelter and safety. We spoke with Papa Grimes himself, Andrew Lincoln, about what to expect in episode 409 and beyond. READ FULL STORY

'Walking Dead' executive producer Robert Kirkman talks about tonight's season premiere

Watching the season 4 premiere of The Walking Dead, it was easy to imagine you had fallen into a Rick Grimes-esque coma and missed a few shows. When did Andrew Lincoln’s much-tortured cop become so handy with a hoe? When was David Morrissey‘s depth perception-challenged maniac The Governor going to make an appearance? And, perhaps most bewilderingly, when did it become okay for Carol to call Daryl “Pookie”?
