On 'Girl Meets World,' Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel meet parenting

It’s a rehearsal day on the Girl Meets World set. Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have traded the polished working-adult garb they wear on taping days in favor of casual, loose-fitting T-shirts. They have gathered in Savage’s dressing room for their interview, and though they play the parents on Disney’s upcoming Boy Meets World spin-off, sitting side-by-side cross-legged on the floor, they look just as youthful as when viewers first watched them on the small screen in 1993.

And, as the pair, both 33, explain in their sit-down with EW ahead of the show’s June 27 premiere, little has changed since then too. Oh, except they’re parents now. READ FULL STORY

'Girl Meets World' cast photo shows whole Matthews family -- PHOTO

Here’s the first Girl Meets World sneak peek of 2014.

Ben Savage has posted the above Matthews family photo, presumably from one of the episode tapings, to his Instagram. The picture shows the whole Matthews gang (complete with a very Topanga-esque headband on Danielle Fishel), as well as some of the other actors who’ll fill out the rest of the show.

For those who need up-to-the-minute news about the show, the recently launched Twitter account @GMWWriters is a peek inside the writers room — and that group sure knows how to tease. A recent tweet asked, “Happy New Year! Who would you invite to a Matthews holiday episode? Because we’re writing one. And there are lots of seats at the table.” Dare. To. Dream.

'Boy Meets World' at ATX Fest: 'None of these kids ever went on to knock off a liquor store!'

The ATX Television Festival (Season 2!) kicked off in earnest Friday in Austin, TX with the first-ever official reunion of the Boy Meets World cast. The show, anchored by the endearingly ordinary trio of teenage stars Ben Savage (Cory), Rider Strong (Shawn), and Danielle Fishel (Topanga!) — went off the air in 2000 after seven years of TGIF programming.

Savage, Strong, Matthew Lawrence (Jack), Betsy Randle (the Mom!), Trina McGee (Angela), Maitland Ward (Rachel), and Lily Nicksay (Morgan #1) gathered with creator Michael Jacobs in the green room before greeting a sold-out theater of 300 fans who were watching the series finale. Jacobs told EW that the pilot for the reboot Girl Meets World, which will focus on Cory and Topanga and their 13-year-old daughter, has been shot and is awaiting pick-up from Disney. Strong is not in the pilot, though like all of the Boy cast members he’s been invited to participate in future episodes. Everyone’s beloved Mr. Feeny will appear—”interestingly,” Jacobs said coyly—in the pilot. And Randle says she expects to pop up on an episode every now and then with William Russ, who played her on-screen husband. “Surely we’ll show up for a Thanksgiving episode!” she said.

Since then, producers have also filled the spot of Riley’s best friend, Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), and announced the addition of two more roles (including one, Shamus Farkle, who sounds a whole lot like BMW’s resident geek Minkus).
