Bill O'Reilly to interview President Obama before Super Bowl

President Barack Obama will sit for a live interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly before the Super Bowl.

The interview at the White House will air as part of Fox’s pregame show Feb. 2.

It’s become an annual tradition for the president to talk to the network televising the game on Super Bowl Sunday. O’Reilly also interviewed Obama before the Super Bowl three years ago, the last time Fox had the NFL championship.

Fox said Thursday that an additional recorded portion of the interview will be aired on The O’Reilly Factor on Feb. 3.

The Odd Couple: Tom Hanks and Bill O'Reilly pair up for 'Killing Lincoln'

Tom Hanks and Bill O’Reilly don’t always see eye-to-eye on things. Earlier this year, Hanks narrated an Obama re-election campaign video, a job that O’Reilly quickly dismissed as “career suicide.” Then, when an old home video turned up that captured Hanks at a 2004 private school fundraiser where a parent donned blackface as part of an ill-conceived skit, the Oscar-winning actor apologized to the Fox News personality because he name-checked him as a desperate punchline during the awkward videotaped banter.

But both men share a passion for history, with Hanks a star and producer of huge Hollywood films about World War II and the space race, and O’Reilly the author of a best-selling book about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. And sometimes, that’s enough.

Today, the National Geographic Channel — which is also partially owned by News Corp, the parent of Fox News — announced that the two will team up to turn O’Reilly’s book, Killing Lincoln, in to a two-hour television event. READ FULL STORY

Fox News to sign Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity to multi-year deals

To no one’s surprise, cable-news stars Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity are close to signing new multi-year deals with Fox News. EW has confirmed a Deadline report that the two evening anchors’ new contracts will keep them both at Fox at least through 2016, which would mark their 20th years with the No. 1 cable news network.

The O’Reilly Factor is the long-running top-rated news show on cable, averaging approximately 2.8 million viewers each night. Hannity pulls in about 2.1 million at a later hour.

Bill O'Reilly, President Obama to kick off Super Bowl with pregame interview

Fox News bigwig Bill O’Reilly is set to interview President Barack Obama during the Super Bowl pregame, which is airing on Fox Feb. 6. This will be the first time the duo has chat since Obama appeared on O’Reilly’s program during his 2008 presidential run, and the president has since been vocal about Fox News’ supposed right-leaning bias. (“I’ve got one television station that is entirely devoted to attacking my administration,” Obama told CNBC during a 2009 interview.) This is the second year in a row that Obama will be interviewed prior to the Super Bowl; last year, Katie Couric sat down with the commander-in-chief before the New Orleans Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts.
