'The Voice' contestant Nic Hawk says 'it's really anybody's game at this point'

On Monday NBC’s The Voice kicked off the first night of its live shows with performances from members of Team Adam and Team Blake.

Team Blake contestant Nic Hawk, now notorious for his unique and upbeat renditions of Top 40 singles, got the crowd going with an energetic performance of Robin Thicke, Pharrell, and T.I.’s summer hit, “Blurred Lines.”

If the audience reaction to Hawk’s performance on Monday night was anything to go by, the charismatic pop singer might very well be one of the frontrunners for the singing competition’s fifth season.

Check out what Nic had to say about being on Team Blake and what his strategy is for sticking in the competition below!

'The Voice' season 5 promo: Original coaches are back and cheesier than ever -- VIDEO

When The Voice first hit the reality-television scene years ago, there were a number of things that set it apart from other singing competitions — including the chemistry between coaches Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton. And now, after a season without Aguilera and Green, the original foursome is reuniting for season 5 … and it feels so good.

In NBC’s newest promo, Levine and Shelton are enjoying a fishing trip together, reminiscing about how much they miss the show’s original divas by singing “Reunited,” when Aguilera and her killer vocals emerge from a critter-filled forest, and Green, who has since become Poseidon, rises from the depths of the sea to join the performance. But how will they get everyone safely to set? Oh, that’s right! Carson Daly has a yacht! As Green put it, “Now that is ridiculous.”

Blake Shelton: Danielle Bradbery is the most important artist to walk across the 'Voice' stage

It was all smiles from Team Blake’s season 4 champion last night at The Voice.

Danielle Bradbery had several dreams come true, winning the competition — and sharing a duet with one of her favorite artists.

“I’ve always wanted to perform with Hunter Hayes and he was so sweet and down to earth, it was just a blast up there with him,” Bradbery told EW after the show. READ FULL STORY

Blake Shelton's tornado-relief benefit raises $6 million

Organizers of a televised benefit concert say they raised more than $6 million in pledges and ticket sales to help people in Oklahoma trying to recover after a deadly tornado last week.

A spokeswoman for the United Way of Central Oklahoma reported the updated figures Thursday after the Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert hosted by Blake Shelton and televised live on NBC.

Several country music stars with Oklahoma ties performed during the Wednesday night concert in downtown Oklahoma City. The included Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Vince Gill, Reba McEntire and Rascal Flatts. Other performers included Usher, Darius Rucker and Luke Bryan.

The money goes directly to the United Way of Central Oklahoma. It will distribute funding to agencies helping those affected by the May 20 tornado.

'The Voice' gets longer episodes for final weeks

The Voice may be getting more buzz this week for the controversial remarks of coach Adam Levine after two favored contestants were eliminated than for the show itself, but the NBC singing competition is actually about singing — and lots of it.

The Voice will be airing two extra-long episodes on June 10 and June 17, as the finalists edge toward the finish line. The two-hour shows will maintain the same format, with competitors singing for the judges and America voting for whom they want to keep. The final voting will take place June 17, and the winner will be announced the following night.

'The Voice' champ Cassadee Pope: Hear her new single and learn who she's really pulling for in season 4 -- VIDEO

Cassadee Pope, the pop-rock singer who embraced her country roots to win season 3 of The Voice for Team Blake, will be returning to The Voice stage on June 4 to debut her new single, “Wasting All These Tears.” But fans will have to wait until fall for Pope’s full not-yet-titled album, which she promises will give fans the same mix of country and rock that she delivered on the show.

“[Fans] can expect a mixture. I grew up singing country music. It’s always spoken to me; it’s always felt natural,” Pope says. “Then I had a band. I did the whole rock thing as a teenager. Now I’m merging both. It’s very relevant to country music now, there’s a lot of country-rock, country-pop going on. What you saw on the show, me covering ‘Cry’ and ‘Stupid Boy,’ that stuff is very similar to my original songs, so they can expect the same kind of vibe.”

And although Pope still keeps in touch with former coach Blake Shelton, she can’t promise that you’ll hear him on her album… but she’s working on it. “I would love that,” she says. “I do have a song that I think would be great for him to sing on and hopefully that will work out. I still have to record that myself, so there’s still time. Hopefully we’ll get him in the studio and he’ll sing a verse or something like that.”

For now, Pope is preparing to open for The Band Perry and Rascal Flatts on the Live and Loud tour, starting May 30 and lasting through October. She’s also teamed up with Outnumber Hunger to help feed those in need. And when she gets a spare moment, which isn’t often, she tunes in to season 4 of The Voice, where she remains loyal to Team Blake. “I’m officially The Swon Brothers’ fan,” she says. “They blew my mind. I love them, and if they won I’d be so excited. But I gotta pull for a girl again. Gotta make it balance. It was two guys; now it’s gotta be two girls. Danielle I think has a real good chance.”

Her advice to the contestants? “Keep doing what they’re doing. Obviously, people love it. Stay true to themselves. To pull something out of a hat at this point when things are going so well and people are loving what they’re doing is just not the best move.”

Blake Shelton and NBC planning benefit concert for Oklahoma tornado victims

Oklahoma native Blake Shelton opened last night’s Voice results show with an emotional ballad dedicated to the victims of Monday’s horrific tornado. He sang “Over You” with his wife, fellow country star Miranda Lambert, as the Red Cross’s phone number flashed onscreen.

And the musician isn’t stopping there. Shelton annouced last night that he’s also organizing a benefit concert for tornado victims that will air sometime soon on NBC.

Though details are sparse thus far, Shelton expects the benefit to come together quickly: “We’ll know more about it in the next 24 hours,” Shelton told Billboard Tuesday after The Voice. “I’m hoping it will raise a lot of money. Obviously it will be televised and will happen really quickly.” If this concert follows the model of NBC’s Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together benefit, it should air by this Friday. (That telethon, too, was thrown together after a natural disaster that occurred on a Monday.)

Shakira's claws come out on 'The Voice': First look at the new coach -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Screen Shot 2013-03-03 at 3.55.06 PM

The Voice may have lost one spicy Latina judge in Christina Aguilera, but newcomer Shakira seems poised to infuse season 4 with a kinder-hearted, just-feisty-enough zest. In the exclusive video below, the 36-year-old Colombian superstar gamely takes on old-timers Blake Shelton and Adam Levine (after three seasons, she promises a contestant, “They’re almost deaf!”), slyly mocks the super-casual posture of fellow new judge Usher (pictured), and even rushes the stage during blind auditions to hug a singer she wants on her team. The competition is on! And don’t worry — she isn’t above segueing into Spanish to get her point across. (Silly Blake Shelton assumes she’s referring to a very spicy dip.)

Season 4 of The Voice premieres March 25 on NBC. Watch Shakira in action below: READ FULL STORY

Man involved with Manti Te'o scandal also auditioned for 'The Voice'

The Manti Te’o hoax web just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

For the uninitiated, Manti Te’o is a star Notre Dame linebacker whose inspirational story of overcoming the death of his grandmother and girlfriend caught the media’s attention over the past college football season. But Deadspin published an article Wednesday that revealed that the girlfriend never existed in the first place. Central to the complex story is a guy named Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, who allegedly either conceived of the hoax with Te’o, or tricked Te’o into believing it.

But this isn’t Tuiasosopo’s only moment in the media spotlight. He also auditioned for the upcoming season of The Voice, EW has confirmed. Us Weekly broke the news, saying Tuiasosopo also spun quite a story for producers. READ FULL STORY

'The Voice' winner Cassadee Pope talks Blake, her upcoming album, and dealing with haters

Ready for your mind to be blown? According to 23-year-old Cassadee Pope — newly crowned winner of NBC’s The Voice — the ever-eccentric Cee Lo Green is actually “really normal” in person. “You can sit down and have a conversation with him and it’s not weird,” she explained yesterday during a visit to EW’s offices in New York City. “He’s very intellectual.”

Cassadee’s insight about Cee Lo is much more surprising than her recent win, which seemed foretold as soon as her cover of Blake Shelton’s “Over You” shot to No. 1 on iTunes’s singles chart. While the singer says she never thought of herself as season 3′s frontrunner — “I knew that stuff can happen in this show and not be lasting” — she will admit that her iTunes sales made her “very optimistic” before Tuesday’s finale. And though Cassadee feels like her victory still hasn’t really sunk in, she also can’t wait to get back to the recording studio in January and start work on a debut album that combines pop, rock, and country — sort of like “an edgier Taylor Swift [record], not as country, with more mature lyrics and more challenging vocals and melodies.”

Intrigued? Read on for more about Cassadee’s time on the show, her relationship with mentor Blake Shelton — and her near miss with the Muppets.

New 'Voice' judges Shakira and Usher take a ride with Adam Levine and Blake Shelton -- VIDEO

With Cassadee Pope crowned season 3′s Voice victor, it’s out with the old and in with the new judges.

In a new promo for next season’s show, newcomers Shakira and Usher bond with returning judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton (the only two judges with winning team members) over music, naturally. After the odd couple picks up the Latin songstress and R&B crooner, the four egos fight over control of the radio. Struck by “a total eclipse of the heart” (we’ve all been there …), they finally agree on a station.
