Shakira's claws come out on 'The Voice': First look at the new coach -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Screen Shot 2013-03-03 at 3.55.06 PM

The Voice may have lost one spicy Latina judge in Christina Aguilera, but newcomer Shakira seems poised to infuse season 4 with a kinder-hearted, just-feisty-enough zest. In the exclusive video below, the 36-year-old Colombian superstar gamely takes on old-timers Blake Shelton and Adam Levine (after three seasons, she promises a contestant, “They’re almost deaf!”), slyly mocks the super-casual posture of fellow new judge Usher (pictured), and even rushes the stage during blind auditions to hug a singer she wants on her team. The competition is on! And don’t worry — she isn’t above segueing into Spanish to get her point across. (Silly Blake Shelton assumes she’s referring to a very spicy dip.)

Season 4 of The Voice premieres March 25 on NBC. Watch Shakira in action below: READ FULL STORY »

Man involved with Manti Te'o scandal also auditioned for 'The Voice'

The Manti Te’o hoax web just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

For the uninitiated, Manti Te’o is a star Notre Dame linebacker whose inspirational story of overcoming the death of his grandmother and girlfriend caught the media’s attention over the past college football season. But Deadspin published an article Wednesday that revealed that the girlfriend never existed in the first place. Central to the complex story is a guy named Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, who allegedly either conceived of the hoax with Te’o, or tricked Te’o into believing it.

But this isn’t Tuiasosopo’s only moment in the media spotlight. He also auditioned for the upcoming season of The Voice, EW has confirmed. Us Weekly broke the news, saying Tuiasosopo also spun quite a story for producers. READ FULL STORY »

'The Voice' winner Cassadee Pope talks Blake, her upcoming album, and dealing with haters

Ready for your mind to be blown? According to 23-year-old Cassadee Pope — newly crowned winner of NBC’s The Voice — the ever-eccentric Cee Lo Green is actually “really normal” in person. “You can sit down and have a conversation with him and it’s not weird,” she explained yesterday during a visit to EW’s offices in New York City. “He’s very intellectual.”

Cassadee’s insight about Cee Lo is much more surprising than her recent win, which seemed foretold as soon as her cover of Blake Shelton’s “Over You” shot to No. 1 on iTunes’s singles chart. While the singer says she never thought of herself as season 3′s frontrunner — “I knew that stuff can happen in this show and not be lasting” — she will admit that her iTunes sales made her “very optimistic” before Tuesday’s finale. And though Cassadee feels like her victory still hasn’t really sunk in, she also can’t wait to get back to the recording studio in January and start work on a debut album that combines pop, rock, and country — sort of like “an edgier Taylor Swift [record], not as country, with more mature lyrics and more challenging vocals and melodies.”

Intrigued? Read on for more about Cassadee’s time on the show, her relationship with mentor Blake Shelton — and her near miss with the Muppets.

New 'Voice' judges Shakira and Usher take a ride with Adam Levine and Blake Shelton -- VIDEO

With Cassadee Pope crowned season 3′s Voice victor, it’s out with the old and in with the new judges.

In a new promo for next season’s show, newcomers Shakira and Usher bond with returning judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton (the only two judges with winning team members) over music, naturally. After the odd couple picks up the Latin songstress and R&B crooner, the four egos fight over control of the radio. Struck by “a total eclipse of the heart” (we’ve all been there …), they finally agree on a station.

Backstage at 'The Voice,' the coaches snipe, snark, flirt, and reminisce -- EXCLUSIVE CLIP

Reunited, and it feels so good!

On the first day of Season 3′s Blind Auditions, The Voice coaches Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton, and Christina Aguilera gathered backstage to discuss the season ahead. Social media correspondent Christina Milian got the ball rolling by asking the coaches to name who they see as their biggest competition — which led to Aguilera calling Levine “a sensitive, tender lover,” then imitating Shelton’s big-hearted Santa laugh, then giggling as Levine quoted a famously profane moment from Half Baked (NSFW).

Watch their chummy camaraderie below — before the claws come out on tonight’s episode:

NBC says The Voice is teaming a crooner and a country singer for the show’s new season.

The network said Monday that Michael Bublé will serve as adviser to coach Blake Shelton’s team of contestants when the singing contest returns in September.

Bublé, who described himself as a “big Blake fan,” said he’s having a terrific time working with Shelton and his singers. Bublé started taping his appearances on The Voice Monday in Los Angeles.

NBC has yet to announce advisers for the show’s three other coaches, Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green and Adam Levine.

Kelly Clarkson, Jewel and Baby Face were among last season’s advisers, guiding contestants in their choice of songs. The Voice is back for its third season Sept. 10.

'The Voice': Charlotte Sometimes, Tony Vincent and Jermaine Paul talk battle rounds, coaches, and Purrfect the cat -- VIDEO

the-voice

Week one of battle rounds may be over, but that doesn’t mean that the remaining artists left on NBC’s The Voice can rest easy. In fact, the pressure is higher than ever, and three of this season’s contestants dropped by EW to talk about just that.

Charlotte Sometimes (Team Blake), Jermaine Paul (Team Blake) and Tony Vincent (Team Cee Lo) — all New York locals — swung by the EW office last week to answer some of the more pressing questions we had (that host Carson Daly doesn’t already answer for us!). How does it feel to be a Twitter trending topic? What’s life like in Cee Lo Land? And have they ever gotten the pleasure – nay, privilege – of encountering Purrfect the cat?
