Pablo Schreiber, Carrie Preston, Pedro Pascal accept guest EWwys

New this year to the EWwys, EW.com’s annual reader-voted awards for the Emmy-snubbed, are guest actor and guest actress categories. We’ve already posted audio of Elizabeth Banks phoning EW Radio to accept Best Guest Actress in a Comedy for her return to Modern Family (hear it here), but the other winners—The Good Wife‘s Carrie Preston, Orange is the New Black‘s Pablo Schreiber, and Game of Thrones‘ Pedro Pascal—were equally as entertaining when they dialed.

The closest race in the 2014 EWwys was Best Guest Actress in a Drama: Preston topped Lisa Kudrow (Scandal) by just 37 votes. The best part about Preston’s call? She was dressed as Elsbeth Tascioni, taking a break during a wardrobe fitting to reprise her winning role yet again. She also lightheartedly lamented not being able to keep all the True Blood souvenirs she’d wanted. READ FULL STORY

Carrie Preston is returning to 'The Good Wife'

With True Blood coming to an end, Carrie Preston already has more work lined up. EW has confirmed that Preston will reprise her role as fan favorite Elsbeth Tascioni in the upcoming sixth season of The Good Wife. There’s no word yet on how long Elsbeth will be sticking around, but let’s just hope that this time, she stays away from any and all anti-Semitic bears (or not).

The Good Wife isn’t the only place Preston’s fans will be able to find her. As EW previously reported, the actress is also set to guest star in a season 2 episode of HBO’s Getting On. Preston will play Denya Thorp, a cancer patient staying at the Billy Barnes Extended Care Facility. Let’s just say she’s looking to get out of that place ASAP. READ FULL STORY

Carrie Preston teases 'Good Wife' return

On the scene at the Creative Arts Emmys: Sprinting to the stage and memorable first wins

TV fans are eagerly awaiting next weekend’s Emmy Awards, but on Sunday evening, the celebration of the year’s best television kicked off with the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. It’s a ceremony that primarily honors behind-the-scenes work in TV but also packs in some categories like Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, which became the show’s buzziest award when it went to comedy legend Bob Newhart — his first Emmy win.

The jokes coming from presenters at the Creative Arts Emmys mostly poked fun at the ceremony’s long running time, nearly four hours of almost 90 awards (an edited-down telecast will air on FXX this Saturday), and the behind-the-scenes folks vs. stars dichotomy. “Tonight we honor all the people in television contractually forbidden to make eye-contact with me,” first presenter Joel McHale joked.

It’s a night when the less magazine-covering, less spray-tan-prone of the TV world get to dress up and be recognized for their often-under-the-radar work.

MythBusters co-host Kari Byron told EW before the show, held at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre, “This is the one day a year that we take off the clothes that we worry about whether they’re flammable or not and put on the fancy duds, walk the carpet and be part of this amazing celebration of the creative arts.” READ FULL STORY

Emmy Watch: Carrie Preston on eccentric 'Good Wife' character Elsbeth Tascioni

Between now and June 28, the deadline for Emmy voters to submit nomination ballots, EW.com will feature interviews with some of the actors and actresses whose names we hope to hear when nominations are announced on July 18.

Of all the talented guest stars who pop up on the CBS drama The Good Wife, Carrie Preston’s Elsbeth Tascioni consistently remains a fan favorite. Elsbeth is the quirky—part crazy/part genius—lawyer who manages to steal every scene she’s in, and serve up the laughs while she’s doing it. Here, Preston shares her favorite scenes of the season and confesses that she, too, would love an Elsbeth-themed spinoff.  READ FULL STORY

'The Good Wife': Carrie Preston talks quirky lawyer Elsbeth Tascioni

Is it too early to start an Emmy campaign? Carrie Preston reprised her role as the brilliant and funny Elsbeth Tascioni on last night’s The Good Wife. But Preston’s stint on the show doesn’t end there: Elsbeth returns in the March 3 episode where she continues to represent Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) in his case against the Department of Justice. Preston called up EW to chat about her role on the series and settle once and for all: Is Elsbeth a secret genius?  READ FULL STORY
