'Castle': Tamala Jones on what's next for Lanie and Esposito. Plus, dish on January's 'phenomenal' wedding episode!

When Lanie and Esposito (Jon Huertas) broke off their relationship last month, it became clear, as Castle‘s Tamala Jones puts it, that the “honeymoon phase is over” between the two once-smitten lovers. But there’s hope on the horizon for the pair, she says.

“She’s got a wall up but I think that Esposito is breaking her down at this point, and you’re going to see a little bit of that [this] week,” says Jones. “She’s going to come clean about how she truly feels about him…but I definitely don’t think Laney is done with Esposito.”

And while full reconciliation might be an extended process, Jones says it will all come to a head in a January episode, which is being filmed now, that will center around Ryan’s (Seamus Dever) wedding to Jenny (played by Dever’s real-life wife Juliana Dever). “Oh my God, that is going to be the episode,” she teases. “I mean, Castle episodes are all good but this one, the wedding episode, I think it’s going to be phenomenal.”  READ FULL STORY

'Terra Nova' ratings drop on Halloween night

Fox’s Terra Nova ratings got spooked on Halloween night, falling more than any other broadcast show after spending a week off the air due to baseball coverage.

Terra Nova returned to 6.4 million viewers and a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating, down 25 percent compared to its last original airing. (Bummer — some say it was the show’s best episode, recap here.) Given that Terra Nova airs at 8 p.m. and is targeted toward families, it was probably the most likely series to take a punch.

And Terra Nova wasn’t the only show to take a holiday night hit in the ratings — pretty much every series was down, except… READ FULL STORY

‘GOSSIP GIRL': EP TALKS MORE ON ‘SLEEP NO MORE,’
How much did you love this news? I was so excited I even circled Nov. 14 in my calendar and drew a creepy mask by the date to remind myself. But in case you need even more reasons to be excited about the impending romantic entanglements in this very special episode, executive producer Josh Safran told me that much “like masked balls in the past, there are multiple kisses — between multiple people” in the episode. “Like, quadratic couples, I’d say,” he teases. Could that have something to do with the “big kiss” everyone has been asking me about? Possibly… READ FULL STORY

System failing. Too much TV. Abort! Abort!

Anyone else feeling a little overwhelmed by all the amazing television this week? Well, buck up, sissy pants! Fall TV is not for the weak. It’s for the bravest, strongest, most wonderfully reclusive individuals. Together we will conquer.

That said, I need your help. Be sure you’re sending in your scoop requests, sharing your TV ponderings, and telling me your general shows of interest so I can make sure I’m filling your need for scoops during this hectic TV time. (Send e-mails to spoilerroom@ew.com or follow me on Twitter: @EWSandraG) Until next week!

(Side note: In case you missed it, we also had a special Emmy scoops edition earlier this week that you can read here.)

DEXTER REVISITS THE PAST IN AWESOME PREMIERE

Last season of Dexter ended with the door open for anything to happen. Lumen lost her darkness and left, Dexter had taken down the season’s villain, and there was even a small note of optimism on his part that he could one day live without his own darkness following him.

On Oct. 2, we pick up with Harrison starting pre-school and Dexter very much at peace with his darkness. And, dare I say, enjoying it again.

Without ruining too much (because I honestly felt incredibly psyched by the premiere and want you to experience it for yourself), much of the episode centers around Dexter tracking down a potential victim at his 20th high school reunion. There, we not only get a great picture of who Dexter was as a high school student, but also get a good laugh out how his classmates perceive him now. (He’s… popular!)

We’re also introduced to Colin Hanks and Edward James Olmos’ demented characters. I can happily report that the first murder they are responsible for is one of the most disgusting ones I’ve ever seen on the show. Congrats, newbies! READ FULL STORY

Top fall TV time-slot battles this week (and who will win)

Right after the fall schedule was announced last May, I posted a rundown of the most intriguing time-period battles and who I thought would win. There’s been a lot of buzz and new intel about these shows since then, but I’m keeping my predictions the same — plus adding a several new entries. So here they are, below. Be sure to check the Inside TV blog every morning for the ratings to see how your favorite shows perform (of course, in today’s DVR era, time periods are less important than they were five years ago, but don’t be fooled: The slots still matter — just ask any show that faced off against American Idol, or one that had the pleasure of airing after it):

Who: CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 vs. NBC’s Playboy Club vs. ABC’s Castle
When
: Mondays at 10 p.m.
Verdict: Castle pulled off a surprise victory in this slot by the end of last season against the first year of Five-0, gradually conquering a time period that it always lost to CBS when CSI: Miami was there. (Castle was especially aided by Charlie Sheen’s freak out and Two and a Half Men going into repeats — thus weakening CBS’ 9 p.m. hour’s lead into Hawaii.) So this is the rematch, with Hawaii bulking up with a ton of guest stars and adding Terry O’Quinn to the cast. Expectations are modest for Playboy Club. Hawaii will go big tonight when Men returns tonight, but in the coming weeks Castle will probably end up slightly on top. And now on Friday nights, it’s Chuck vs… READ FULL STORY

Poor Alex). READ FULL STORY

'Castle': New pictures reveal (non?) secret from season premiere

Don’t let those worried faces fool you. Even though the good people at Castle have tried (unsuccessfully) to worry us all about Beckett’s future, the promo pictures for this season show us, among other things, that Beckett is alive and well.

Click here to view the full set of photos.

The season premiere of Castle promises to be an emotional hour, indeed, but it also looks to be pretty kick-ass, too. As you’ll see as you click through the pics, there’s a fight (in which Seamus Dever’s Ryan has to hold Molly Quinn back from getting too close the action!), what looks like a good scolding from “Iron Gates,” and, wait, is Beckett handing in her shield?! Or that could be Capt. Montgomery’s shield. Regardless, Beckett doesn’t look to happy with her new boss.

Spot any secrets I might have missed in these photos, readers?

'Castle': Beckett fights for her life, Castle spars with Josh in new promo!

Let’s just get this out of the way: OF COURSE SHE LIVES! I mean, there’s no Castle without Beckett (Stana Katic). Period.

That said, this new Castle promo really gives us a great look at the drama that will arise in the aftermath of Beckett’s shooting at the end of last season. Castle’s (Nathan Fillion) bloody hands and ominous voiceover (“Everything that’s happened, happened because of me”) are completely chill-worthy. Not to mention the first look at the fight between Josh and Castle that’s been teased. (#Team Castle, duh)

In the quick flashes, we also see new Capt. Victoria Gates (Penny Johnson Jerald), Esposito (Jon Huertas) and Ryan (Seamus Dever) walking intensely down a hall in their dress blues (yum), and what appears to be Alexis (Molly Quinn) freaking out on someone.

Watch it all for yourself below! READ FULL STORY

No time for small talk, today. Sorry. A storm a’brewin’ on the East Coast!

'Castle': Cast gets old-timey in new promo photo!

I keep staring at this new promo photo for Castle and trying to think about what to say. But words truly escape me. It’s. Just. That. Good.

The colors. The styling. Nathan Fillion seemingly plucked straight out of my noir-themed dreams, in which he always co-stars (with me, duh). Oh, and look, Beckett’s (Stana Katic) alive…and fancy looking.

Also debuting in the new cast photo is Penny Johnson Jerald (third from right), who, as reported, joins the cast this season as Capt. Victoria Gates. (Spoilers on that here.)

There’s still too many days until Sept. 19, but hopefully these photos help curve the craving a bit. Check out two more (non-themed photos) below! READ FULL STORY
