Spike TV to air memorial special for fallen 'Cops' crew member

Cops crew member Bryce Dion died Aug. 26. He was killed by gunfire while filming the police responding to an armed robbery in Omaha, Nebraska. To remember Dion, Spike TV will air a one-hour special featuring the sound mixer’s work, Deadline reports.

Dion is the first crew member to die while filming Cops, a show that’s been on the air since 1989. “We are deeply saddened and shocked by this tragedy and our main concern is helping the family in any way we can,” Langley Productions, the company behind Cops, said in a statement after Dion’s death. “Bryce Dion was a long term member of the Cops team and a very talented and dedicated person.”

A zebra runs wild in the streets on the season 25 premiere of 'COPS' -- VIDEO

Over the last 24 seasons of COPS, we’ve seen just about every kind of troublemaker. Shirtless drug dealer. Shirtless vandal. Shirtless drunk disturber of the peace. But in the season 25 premiere (Saturday at 8 p.m. on Fox), things are getting really wild. For the first time in the show’s history, the police are in hot pursuit of a zebra, which escaped from the property of an exotic animal collector. (It must be guilty of something, given that it’s already in prison stripes.) While the zebra hoofs its way through a residential neighborhood, some brave officers from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department — along with an animal trainer — try to contain the threat, using everything from a traffic break to a lasso. Will they restore order? Judging from this teaser clip, the answer is not black and white. READ FULL STORY
