Good news, Emmy voters: Help has arrived. Again.
The arduous process of selecting this year’s nominations begins next week (finalists are announced on July 8), and as has become an annual tradition, I’ve singled out who (and what) I think is most deserving of kudos so you don’t have to. Beginning today and continuing until Friday, I’ll be unveiling my picks in all the major categories. Do me a favor — heck, do us all a favor — and consult these handy cheat sheets when the official ballot drops next week. Pretty please?
First up: Supporting actor and actress in a comedy… READ FULL STORY
Question: Any more clues on who dies on Private Practice? —Katie
Ausiello: Well, Addison was already a long shot, but considering what happens to her in the finale, I can’t imagine Shonda Rhimes would be so cruel as to kill her. [MAJOR SPOILER ALERT] “You’ve watched her get really beat up all season,” says the boss lady, so “I wanted to sort of see her have a chance at really being happy…to finally sort of get the guy and find some peace.” (No word if the guy she gets is named Pete or Sam.)
Question: Do you know anything about House‘s season finale? —Eva
Ausiello: I know it will raise some big questions about a certain character’s future on the show.
Question: Please give me some The Good Wife scoop! —Hayley
Ausiello: Look for Alicia to make a pact with the devil — a.k.a. Eli — in order to save her job in the May 11 episode. READ FULL STORY
Question: I came home for spring break to find that my mother had sold my Smurf collection on eBay. The only thing that could make me feel better is little Glee scoop. —Blake
Ausiello: My partner tried to do the same thing with my collection. He’s now missing something very near and dear to him. Coincidence? I think not. Onto the Glee scoop, there’s an episode coming up in which Puck gets paired up with someone new — resulting in a musical tug-of-war for his attention. Guesses? Hit the comments!
Question: Please help out a worried Gleek. Your frenemy put out a spoiler that there is a seriously sad twist ahead for Puck on Glee. Can you spill anything? —Erin
Ausiello: Only that it doesn’t involve him losing a limb or a relative. “It’s Glee tragic,” clarifies executive producer Brad Falchuk. “He’s not going to lose an arm. No family member will pass away. He will get some news that is very surprising that will have a very big effect on his life.” READ FULL STORY

As I previously reported, Courteney Cox’s Cougar Town boy toy, Nick Zano, is relocating to Melrose Place in early January to play an irreverent doctor who prescribes some extra strength chill pills to reluctant prostitute Lauren (Stephanie Jacobsen). In his first interview since being cast, the actor sounds off on his character’s big secret, Melrose‘s sexy, fun makeover, and the downside to having an eight-pack.
Congrats on landing the role.
NICK ZANO: Thank you. I appreciate that.
Tell me a little bit about this guy.
ZANO: He’s a person who enjoys life. He lives every day to [its fullest]… I just literally walked out of a meeting with [exec producers] Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin. They were very specific about how they’re going to change the direction of the show. In TV, you usually don’t get a chance to fix anything. It’s always easier to cancel something than fix it. And The CW clearly has a passion for the show, because it’s still on the air. And all of these people are making a very concentrated effort to improve the show and I’m happy to be a part of it. Maybe Jules is maturing: Courteney Cox’s new Cougar Town scratching post is the darn-close-to-age-appropriate Scott Foley. The Unit secret agent has signed on to appear in three episodes as a businessman being shown some houses — and, presumably, one bedroom in particular — by our randy realtor heroine. READ FULL STORY
It’s not an actual Friends reunion, but I’ll take it: Lisa Kudrow has signed on to guest star opposite ex-Friend Courteney Cox on Cougar Town, an ABC spokesperson confirms.
“She’ll play a dermatologist that my character can’t stop going to even though [she's] mean to me,” Cox told tvguidemagazine.com.
The Cox-Kudrow reunion episode will shoot next month and air in early 2010.
