Drake to host 'Saturday Night Live' in January

2014’s first SNL host? That’d be Aubrey Graham, better known by the mononym Drake — at least, to those who aren’t familiar with his work on Degrassi.

During tonight’s episode, NBC revealed that the Canadian rapper-slash-actor will be Saturday Night Live‘s host and musical guest on January 18. Drake has one SNL appearance under his belt already; he served as musical guest opposite host Anna Faris in 2011. His latest album, Nothing Was the Same, dropped in September.

'Degrassi' season 12 music video promo -- WATCH!

For the third year in a row, Degrassi has made a mega music video preview — this time to tout its 12th season, which will bow Monday, July 16 at 10 p.m. on TeenNick. This year’s clip, set to the pulsating song “Bite Your Tongue” by Chantal Claret (lead singer of the band Morningwood), spoofs that high school staple: yearbook photos. 'Degrassi' alumni returns... with a twist -- EXCLUSIVE

The bosses at Glee are still trying to figure out what to do with their graduating seniors. What they should do is take a cue from Degrassi — the Canadian drama now has the formula down pat. For the past few seasons it has (more or less) let its matriculating students head off to unseen colleges and replenished the high school’s halls with a crop of equally intriguing underclassmen. This year is no exception: Six characters (including fan favorite Holly J., played by Charlotte Arnold) will leave Degrassi when it ends its four-night-a-week, telenovela-esque summer run on Teen Nick early next month.
