Do Something Awards: Not your average Hollywood show

The Do Something Awards aren’t your average self-congratulatory Hollywood back-patting-palooza. Sure, there were celebrities and prizes. And press. And time-filling banter, limos and designer dresses. But a closer look revealed subtle differences like the bold chartreuse carpet instead of the standard stretch of red rug, the “overwhelming amount of positivity in the air” as honoree Jennifer Hudson pointed out and the fact that Kelly Osbourne was there to collect a trophy instead of critique couture.

“I don’t even care about my own outfit tonight or what people say about it,” the Fashion Police talking head told EW exclusively on before the July 31 awards show held at the Avalon nightclub. “It was literally the last thing I took care of because that isn’t what this show is about. Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard, Simon Helberg, Adam Scott among presenters at Do Something Awards -- EXCLUSIVE is gearing up to put a spotlight on celebs, along with some not-quite-as-famous young adults, who commit themselves to various charitable and activist causes. Later this month the annual Do Something Awards will air on VH1.

EW can exclusively report four actors who are signed on to present at the awards ceremony: celeb couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, Parks and Recreation star Adam Scott, and The Big Bang Theory star Simon Helberg.
