'The Following' star James Purefoy takes the EW Pop Culture Personality Test (and proves he's not so scary after all) -- VIDEO

James-Purefoy.jpg

To know how convincing he is as serial killer Joe Carroll on Fox’s The Following, all James Purefoy has to do is walk down the street. “I got out of a car the other day, and I was talking to somebody, and as I turned, I bumped into this middle-aged lady, and she made the sound of a small dog being kicked. She didn’t scream, she yelped at me,” he says. “It turned out that she’d been watching the show the night before and thinking about it, and then suddenly, poof, there I was.”

Even better: “There was a guy the other day who was asking me where the nearest Starbucks was, and I happened to know it was on the other side of the street. I was pointing it out to him, and suddenly I saw the recognition. [In thick New York accent] ‘Whoa, I am so not messing with you. Get the heck away from me now.’ And he literally ran down the street away from me,” Purefoy says. “That’s a funny thing to feel, isn’t it? On one hand, it means the show’s working and the character’s working, because if he’s not scary, then what’s the point? But on the other hand, as an actor and as a man, I don’t want people to be frightened of me. I want people to be happy to be in my company.”

We’ve got good news: His answers to our EW Pop Culture Personality Test below definitely do the trick… READ FULL STORY

David Giuntoli previews 'Grimm' return, shows off his singing skills -- VIDEO

David Giuntoli and the rest of the Grimm gang return tonight for new episodes after a long winter away and the episode is more exciting than you’re hoping.

Not only is there a big fight — one that Giuntoli admits caused some real physical pain! — but it ends in a cliffhanger that will launch the show into a stellar second season.

When Giuntoli popped into EW’s office we talked about all this — and much more, like his tendency to sing showtunes during karaoke. Yes, you read that right.

Below, enjoy two videos. The first is a preview of the fun coming up on Grimm and the second is the actor’s Pop Culture Personality Test. The PCPT is a well-known staple of EW’s and while we’ll let you be the final judge, we think you’ll agree that Giuntoli’s ranks among the best! READ FULL STORY

'All-Star Celebrity Apprentice': Omarosa comes out gunning for Bret Michaels -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

celebrity-apprentice-claudia-jordan-omarosa_510x264The premiere of All-Star Celebrity Apprentice is only two days away, but you can get your first taste of the season right here and right now. In the exclusive sneak peek video from the premiere below, the franchise’s most notorious villain (and camera hog) Omarosa has her sights set on a new target — season 3 champ Bret Michaels. “Bret better watch his back,” she tells teammate Claudia Jordan. “I’m coming for him. It would be a personal moment of privilege to take out the only winner in the game.”

But the most bizarre part of the clip is Jordan’s impressed reaction to Omarosa’s clearly designed play for extra air-time. “Nobody plays the game better than her so far,” says the former Deal or No Deal briefcase holder. Really? Nobody? Because I’m pretty sure Omarosa lost on this show. Twice. So far.

In any event, it’s the perfect tease to get you primed and ready for more absurd antics from both delightful and demented D-listers. Click on the video below and enjoy. And for more All-Star Celebrity Apprentice news and views, follow me on Twitter @DaltonRoss. READ FULL STORY

'Pretty Little Liars': Shay Mitchell shows love to her 'Mitchies' fan army -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Mitchies_510x317.jpg

What’s a “Mitchie”? Apparently, that’s what fans of Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell are called, a fact we discovered at our cover shoot for the ABC Family teen drama. EW posed the show’s four stars with several questions, including: “What has been your craziest fan encounter?” Mitchell’s three co-stars — Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, and Troian Bellisario — almost immediately turned to her. “People get your face tattooed on them!” exclaimed Hale, before the foursome went on to explain what the “Mitchies” are.

Mitchell herself offered this: “There’s no face! But I’ve met a few fans from across the world who’ve had my name tattooed on them.” Then the whole Q&A basically devolves into a further lovefest for Mitchell and her insane fans. Get a look inside our cover shoot and interview session with the girls of PLL below, and click here to buy the issue.

'Pretty Little Liars': Is Mona planning to target Emily next? -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

PLL-Clip

The answer to that question is yes, if you consider the clip below. EW has snatched about a minute from Tuesday’s forthcoming hour of ABC Family’s soapy teen mystery Pretty Little Liars EW’s cover subject this week — that finds Spencer (Troian Bellisario) forcefully warning Emily (Shay Mitchell) that she may be the next one to feel Mona and the “A” team’s wrath.

Holding an ominous funeral sash, Spencer — who has recently been getting it from Mona and the “A” team — points out that the only two letters in the words “deepest sympathy” that aren’t shiny are the E and the M. As in the first two letters of Emily. Remember: We saw one of the “A” minions laying the sash across flowers in the show-ending tag at the end of this week’s episode. “Mona is trying to tell us in her cryptic way,” Spencer warns, “that she’s targeting you next.” Emily brushes it off, but Spencer won’t give up. “She made it seem like something bad was going to happen to you tonight. Look, I’m gonna stay with you for the rest of the day. Do not ignore this!”

Should Emily ignore the supposed warning? Watch the clip and you decide. (And click here to buy this week’s PLL issue!)

In the clip, we find Spartacus (Liam McIntyre) and Gannicus (Dustin Clare) having a meeting of the minds, but what’s really going down is that Spartacus is trying to convince Gannicus to take a leadership role in the gladiators’ fight against the ruling Romans. “A greater number, still, would follow you in battle,” Spartacus tells Gannicus, who seems extremely apprehensive at the proposition. Spartacus ends the clip by assuring Gannicus he isn’t leading the fight for vanity or deification: “Victory against the Romans is my only concern.” Click through to watch.

The first trailer for History's 'Vikings' series is here! -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

HISTORY-VIKINGS

History scored earlier this year with a dramatic, mini-series retelling of the legendary drama between the dueling Hatfield and McCoy clans, and the cable network is once again dipping back into legend again with a new series Vikings, which will debut early next year. Following our first-look photo, EW has an exclusive sneak peek at the series — starring Gabriel Byrne, Travis Fimmel, Jessalyn Gilsig, Gustaf Skarsgard (yes, brother of Alexander and son of Stellan), Clive Standen, and Katheryn Winnick — via the debut trailer.

The 30-second promotional clip is a smorgasbord of beards, long hair, shields, weapons, and general savagery that — depending on how it all pans out in series format — looks like it could be quite the juicy, battle-filled dive into a long-gone world. In previous press releases, History calls the series — which is created and written by The Tudors creator Michael Hirst — “high on adventure, exploration, conflict, warfare, and bloodshed,” as well as a “family saga.” Specifically, the actions follows historical figure Ragnar Lothbrok (Fimmel) as he rises up the ranks to become King of the Viking tribes.

Promises the trailer: “A storm is coming.” Indeed. See for yourself here:

'Scandal': Josh Malina interviews the First Lady (co-star Bellamy Young) -- VIDEO

Another week, another great behind-the-scenes video from Scandal cast member Josh Malina, who this week scored some one-on-one time with the First Lady herself, Bellamy Young.

Fittingly, tonight’s episode of Scandal is an intense one that finds Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) and Mellie (Young) at odds once again as his 50th birthday approaches. And if the promos are any indications, big stuff is about to go down.

But ahead of the drama, make sure you see Mellie’s portrayer in a much lighter mood below. (And if you haven’t seen them, you can also watch installments from previous weeks.) READ FULL STORY
