'Fairly Legal' cancelled

The gang on Fairly Legal has fought their last case.

After two seasons, the USA legal drama starring Sarah Shahi has been cancelled, USA confirms to EW.

“Sarah Shahi is undoubtedly a star and we’re thrilled she’ll be joining our sister network NBC on Chicago Fire,” USA said in a statement. “We are proud of Fairly Legal and thank the very talented cast and crew for two fantastic seasons.”

Shahi, who is said to have a multi-episode arc as a love interest for Taylor Kinney’s Lt. Kelly Severide on Fire, isn’t the only cast member keeping busy these days. Michael Trucco has been appearing steadily on the current season of How I Met Your Mother as Robin’s boyfriend, Nick.

Just yesterday, USA lowered the ax on another drama — freshman buddy-cop show Common Law.

'Fairly Legal' star Sarah Shahi on season's new 'romantic comedy' vibe

“I love it,” she says. “I’m all for anything that tugs on the heartstrings and anything that I can play to keep the show from being a heavy procedural and more in a romantic comedy.” The biggest factor in the shift? The arrival of new partner Ben (Ryan Johnson), who has turned Kate’s already unstable world upside down. Aside from their clashing personalities and different methods of operation, Shahi says there will soon be a new platform for drama: a love triangle involving her, Ben and her ex (Michael Trucco). 'Fairly Legal': See newbie Ryan Johnson in action! -- EXCLUSIVE CLIP

Reed & Reed is in big trouble when Fairly Legal returns for its second season. So in response, head honcho Lauren calls in Ben Grogan (Aussie import Ryan Johnson), a smart, morally ambiguous lawyer who’s sure to be a thorn in Kate’s (Sarah Shahi) side. But as evident in this exclusive clip from the show’s March 16 premiere, they’re also a pretty darn good team. (Not to mention, they ooze chemistry!)

Time will tell if Kate warms up — or if she ever decides to share her candy. Until then, check out the video below and share your thoughts on the firm’s newest arrival. (Our verdict? No objections here!) READ FULL STORY
