Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on 'Glee,' 'Gossip Girl,' 'Castle,' 'Burn Notice,' 'HIMYM,' and more!

Question: Any Glee scoop? —Ines
Ausiello:
I’m hearing a major character (a series regular!) will find himself/herself in a literal life-and-death situation in this season’s third episode. In possibly related news (I say possibly because I honest-to-goodness don’t know), Chris Colfer’s Emmy-nominated TV dad Mike O’Malley tells us that episode 3 will be “another emotional, emotional episode” for father and son. The actor goes on to hint that the show will revisit the complicated dynamic between Burt and Kurt’s crush, Finn. “The last time I was on the show, [Burt] threw Finn out of the house. There [may] be some resolution there. One of the things I think is really important in life and for human beings is to forgive and be able to rise up from our mistakes. I’m hoping that Finn and Burt are able to cross that chasm.”

Question: I seem to recall you said that Chord Overstreet (a.k.a. Glee‘s newest stud) wouldn’t turn out to be Kurt’s new boyfriend. Jane Lynch tells it differently. —Ashley
Ausiello:
Actually, Jane Lynch tells it exactly the same way I did. Snap.

Question: Will Glee ever cast Rachel’s “two gay dads”? Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick are my top picks! —Kim L
Ausiello:
Series creator Ryan Murphy sounds doubtful. Though “people always ask me to do that…I don’t know that we ever will.” Maybe he’ll go with Lea Michele’s idea. Says the boss, she suggested “we see them in season 3, like a shot of Elton John cheering her on in an audience. I haven’t decided how I’m going to do that.” READ FULL STORY »

Question: As of today, I have officially seen every single episode of Grey’s Anatomy, and now I don’t know what to do with myself! Grey’s scoop, please! —Bea
Ausiello:
Even though nearly two months will have passed since the shooting rampage, Derek will still be in pretty bad shape when the season starts. And I’m not talking physically.

Question: What can you tell us about the Grey’s Anatomy premiere? —Claudia
Ausiello:
A major character will be sent directly to jail by the end of the episode. Hint: This person has already been name-checked in this week’s AA.

Question: Do you know if NCIS will deal more with what happened to Ziva in Somalia? —Carlee
Ausiello:
Funny you should ask. Exec producer Shane Brennan just told me the following: “In November sweeps, we dip again into a story that perhaps everyone thought was played out. It involves Ziva.” READ FULL STORY »

Emmy predix: Who will win best lead and supporting actor in a comedy?

emmy-comedy-actorImage Credit: Sonja Fleming/CBS; Patrick Ecclesine/Fox; Bob D'Amico/ABC; Justin Lubin/NBCHere’s where my 2010 Emmy handicapping starts to get interesting. And by interesting I mean challenging. And by challenging I mean tough. And by tough I mean damn near impossible. All 12 of the nominees in the best lead and supporting actor comedy races can easily make a case for winning come Aug. 29. But only two will. So it’s with great fear and trepidation that I present you with part 3 of my pre-Emmy analysis. READ FULL STORY »

Question: I can’t go another week without getting some Dexter season 5 scoopage! —Maria
Ausiello:
Your timing is impeccable, Maria. As luck would have it, I can’t go another week without giving you some Dexter season 5 scoopage. You’re never going to believe who ends up caring for Dexter’s three motherless children. Go ahead, hazard a guess. Dex’s in-laws, you say? Wrong! It’s Deb! New showrunner Chip Johannessen tells me that in the wake of Rita’s brutal slaying, Dex turns to his sister (played by Michael C. Hall’s real-life bride, Jennifer Carpenter) to help care for the kids. And if that’s not problematic enough, all five of them will move into Dex’s old (and rather teensy) apartment! “It’s partially funny and partially not,” says Johannessen. “Deb is not exactly the most maternal person. Nobody quite knows what they’re doing, so there’s a certain kind of struggle to cope.” (For more scoop on Dexter‘s fifth season — bowing in September — pick up the new issue of Entertainment Weekly.) Question: I’m literally dying for some 24 scoop. Please, give me some! – Daniel
Ausiello:
The May 24 series finale will find Jack squaring off against his most formidable adversary yet: Chloe! “Chloe and Jack are in a real face-off,” reveals executive producer Howard Gordon. “And Chloe has to decide between her duty [as head of CTU] and her friendship and allegiance to Jack. Their relationship gets put to the test in a way it’s never been tested before. It’s a collision course that culminates in the finale. It’s about as hairy a confrontation as you can possibly imagine, and it’s a nearly lethal one.” Playing those scenes was “really fun” and “very emotional,” says Mary Lynn Rajskub. “[It's] kind of crazy…what happens between Jack and Chloe. I’ve never done anything like that.”

Question: I realize Katherine Heigl isn’t returning, but will Grey’s Anatomy find a way to give Alex closure about Izzie? —Sharon
Ausiello:
Not on Shonda Rhimes’ watch. The boss lady tells me she has no plans to tie up the loose ends of the Alex-Izzie love story. “It’s going to linger,” she says. “And I actually feel good about it lingering because [it means] Alex is left with unfinished business. And that’s going to be very interesting for his character.” READ FULL STORY »
