Yahoo! announces Morgan Spurlock, Judy Greer, Niecy Nash will host new web series

Yahoo! announced a spate of original online programming today through its Yahoo Screen site, affirming the company’s commitment to a steady move toward streaming media.

The new shows will include Judy Greer-hosted Reluctantly Healthy about health on the go, Let’s Talk About Love with funny lady Niecy Nash, Morgan Spurlock’s show about embracing fear called The Failure Club, soap star Cameron Mathison’s engagement extravaganza Ultimate Proposal, and Top Chef alum Fabio Viviani’s cooking show Chow Ciao!

Intended to improve upon the Yahoo Video portal, Yahoo Screen will also feature aggregated content, personalized features, and a library of video from Hulu, CBS,  Turner Sports, and UFC, among others.  Said Mickie Rosen, senior vice president of Yahoo! Media Network, “This is next generation television, available anytime, anywhere, with something for everyone.”

Someone who admits that she’s not a baby person, so when one of the babies on her show (her character is a nanny) fell asleep in her arms, she gestured to the nearby prop guy, “Dude, f—in’ take a picture of this. The baby likes me!” Someone who rushed out to buy a tape recorder at Rite Aid before switching cell phones so she could record voicemails she’d been saving for years (messages from her Miss Guided exec producer Todd Holland and Love Monkey co-star Tom Cavanagh and his wife after her first Letterman appearance in 2008, two different birthday serenades from her parents, and the first awkward voicemail from her boyfriend when he called to arrange their blind date).  READ FULL STORY
