Kim Kardashian is going from reality (the TV kind) to comedy (the intentional kind): She will guest-star in a February episode of Tim Allen’s ABC comedy Last Man Standing, EW has confirmed. (TVLine first reported the news). Kardashian – who made a cameo appearance in a 2009 episode of How I Met Your Mother – plays herself on Last Man Standing and crosses paths with one of the daughters who happens to be a reality TV junkie. The famous soon-to-be-divorcee will also hit the big screen this summer in the Tyler Perry dramedy The Marriage Counselor.

But there’s one bold-faced name — and an unexpected one at that — who inspired a rise in Walters’ usually measured timbre when she spoke with EW about her upcoming special, Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011. “I loved doing the interview,” spilled Walters of tart-tongued, deep-V-rocking X Factor host Simon Cowell.
Cowell was just one of the eight people Walters interviewed for tonight’s special, which runs 90 minutes for the first time in its 18-year history. Others included the Kardashians, Katy Perry, Donald Trump, and Derek Jeter. She will also profile Pippa Middleton and Amanda Knox. And, conveniently, that’s how the second season of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians spin-off begins. Two power couples land in New York. Only one will come out! EW has confirmed that Kris Jenner will appear on the Today show tomorrow to to promote her memoir Kris Jenner… and All Things Kardashian. Among other things, she will discuss her daughter Kim Kardashian’s divorce from NBA star Kris Humphries after only 72 days. It will be the first time Jenner speaks publicly about the divorce. In fact, she has kept quiet since an Oct. 6 tweet promoting her daughter’s E! wedding special, Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event. Also expect Jenner to mention her son Rob Kardashian’s turn on Dancing With the Stars this season and her indictment of O.J. Simpson in All Things Kardashian.
