Warm up some damn good coffee: Showtime will revive 'Twin Peaks' in 2016 (Updated)

UPDATE: While casting for the new limited series has not been determined for the limited series, producer Mark Frost said he and Lynch would like to see old faces return. And, while it has not been confirmed, original series star Kyle MacLachlan tweeted a hint that, at the very least, he is open to returning to his Agent Dale Cooper suit.

ORIGINAL STORY: Fans of David Lynch and Mark Frost’s Twin Peaks have spent years hoping for a continuation of the two-season series, taking virtually any mention of the show as a sign of life still left in the project. And now, thanks to Showtime, it finally looks like it’s time for some more damn good coffee.

Kyle MacLachlan to return to 'The Good Wife'

In the absence of Will Gardner, it seems The Good Wife is bringing back a number of fan favorite characters. First, we found out that Carrie Preston’s Elsbeth Tascioni would make her triumphant return, and now we’ve got more good news for Tascioni fans: Josh Perotti is coming back with her.

EW has confirmed that Kyle MacLachlan will reprise his role as Perotti, the attorney who once caught Ms. Tascioni’s eye (or rather, she caught his). Although it’s unclear how long either of them will be sticking around, their returns will coincide, so here’s to hoping there’s a date involved. In fact, Preston told TVLine, which first reported the news, that “he and I have a little sparing [sic] thing that we do.”

The Good Wife returns for its sixth season on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. on CBS.

Kyle MacLachlan joins 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' as Skye's father

Since Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. first premiered, the show has been hinting at the identity of Skye’s parents. It’s been an ongoing topic of discussion between May and Coulson, and one that climaxed in the season 1 finale, when Raina handed an unknown person a photo of Skye claiming that she’d found his daughter.

Although we don’t know how he will fit into the context of the show, Skye’s father will definitely enter the mix in season 2. Sources confirm that Kyle MacLachlan has been cast in the role, though there’s no word yet on how long he’ll be sticking around.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m ET on ABC.
