Alyssa Milano shares her favorite 'Melrose Place' memory (and it's pretty great)

She may be the star of ABC’s Mistresses now, but Alyssa Milano had no qualms reminiscing about her days on Melrose Place as Jennifer Mancini, Michael’s sister, when she stopped by Entertainment Weekly Radio’s TV Editor’s Hour. Asked for her favorite Melrose memory, Milano didn’t hesitate: “I have a great visual memory of Heather Locklear being pregnant and adorable, and passing her trailer — ’cause we used to share a two banger — and she was in denim overalls, with a black lace bra, nothing else, eating a tub of chocolate frosting.”

Listen to her interview with Entertainment Weekly‘s Henry Goldblatt below. There’s also talk of a Charmed reunion (at her house) and a discussion about why she’s drawn to shows that combine drama with comedy. “Because that’s life. What is life without laughter? No matter how hard things get in your world, you have to be able to laugh at the situation,” she says. “I remember someone once telling me before I married my husband, ‘You know you found the one if you can laugh no matter what the situation is.’ And that is truly what I have with my husband. So yeah, I think that those types of characters are really relatable — where you’re just able to look at yourself and be like, Ohmygod, what is my world — it’s hilarious.” READ FULL STORY

'Melrose Place' cast reunion: 'There was no plot, there was just kissing' -- VIDEO

Nighttime soaps don’t get much sudsier than the original Melrose Place, which left airwaves in 1999 after seven backstabbing, catfighting, betrayal-filled seasons. Of course, the show’s cast only has fond memories of all that onscreen drama. Heather Locklear is tickled that some people still confuse her with the villainous Amanda Woodward — “They call me Heather Lockwood,” she says. Courtney Thorne-Smith remembers how fun it was to play fake-blind after her character, Alison Parker, lost and regained her eyesight. Grant Show, who starred as bad boy Jake Hanson, hearkens back to long make-out sessions with Daphne Zuniga’s Jo. “There was no plot,” Zuniga recalls. “There was just kissing.”

So, what are the actors’ favorite Melrose moments? ABC News correspondent Amy Robach — who happens to be married to Melrose star Andrew Shue — sat down with the stars during their recent EW reunion to find out. Check out the video for chatter from the cast, clips from the show, and the truth about the original Billy Campbell.

Exclusive: 'Gossip Girl' snags 'Melrose' minx Katie Cassidy

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Cassidy — who was arguably the best thing about last season’s ill-fated Melrose reboot — is staying in the CW fold with a multi-episode arc on Gossip Girl. READ FULL STORY

Question: I’m literally dying for some 24 scoop. Please, give me some! – Daniel
Ausiello:
The May 24 series finale will find Jack squaring off against his most formidable adversary yet: Chloe! “Chloe and Jack are in a real face-off,” reveals executive producer Howard Gordon. “And Chloe has to decide between her duty [as head of CTU] and her friendship and allegiance to Jack. Their relationship gets put to the test in a way it’s never been tested before. It’s a collision course that culminates in the finale. It’s about as hairy a confrontation as you can possibly imagine, and it’s a nearly lethal one.” Playing those scenes was “really fun” and “very emotional,” says Mary Lynn Rajskub. “[It’s] kind of crazy…what happens between Jack and Chloe. I’ve never done anything like that.”

Question: I realize Katherine Heigl isn’t returning, but will Grey’s Anatomy find a way to give Alex closure about Izzie? —Sharon
Ausiello:
Not on Shonda Rhimes’ watch. The boss lady tells me she has no plans to tie up the loose ends of the Alex-Izzie love story. “It’s going to linger,” she says. “And I actually feel good about it lingering because [it means] Alex is left with unfinished business. And that’s going to be very interesting for his character.” READ FULL STORY

Question: Any information on what’s going on with Tony and Ziva on NCIS? More than a few hints were dropped in Tuesday’s episode that suggest something went on between the two of them in Paris. —Jason
Ausiello:
Funny story. Just hours before the episode aired, I asked exec producer Shane Brennan if there would be any significant movement on the ‘Tiva’ front in the coming months. Here’s what he said: “I’ll let the ‘Jetlag’ episode answer that, because I think it does. I don’t want to be more specific than that. People should watch that episode and read between the lines.” They so did it it’s not even funny.

Question: I’m hearing rumors Abby and McGee might be reuniting on NCIS. Please say it isn’t true! —Jo
Ausiello:
Funny story: All Shane Brennan would divulge is, “Something begins to happen [with them] later in the season.” Okay, that one wasn’t so funny. READ FULL STORY

New 'Melrose' hottie Nick Zano on inevitable nudity: 'It's not something I look forward to'

Nick-Zano_lAs I previously reported, Courteney Cox’s Cougar Town boy toy, Nick Zano, is relocating to Melrose Place in early January to play an irreverent doctor who prescribes some extra strength chill pills to reluctant prostitute Lauren (Stephanie Jacobsen). In his first interview since being cast, the actor sounds off on his character’s big secret, Melrose‘s sexy, fun makeover, and the downside to having an eight-pack.

Congrats on landing the role.
NICK ZANO:
Thank you. I appreciate that.

Tell me a little bit about this guy.
ZANO:
He’s a person who enjoys life. He lives every day to [its fullest]… I just literally walked out of a meeting with [exec producers] Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin. They were very specific about how they’re going to change the direction of the show. In TV, you usually don’t get a chance to fix anything. It’s always easier to cancel something than fix it. And The CW clearly has a passion for the show, because it’s still on the air. And all of these people are making a very concentrated effort to improve the show and I’m happy to be a part of it. Nick-Zano_lMelrose Place‘s “fun and sexy” new makeover has a face — and it’s a pretty one at that.

Exclusive: Simpson and Egglesfield out in 'Melrose Place' shake-up

ausiello-melrose-place-ashley_lTwo months into its run, The CW’s ratings-challenged (but creatively-smokin’) Melrose Place reboot is about to undergo a major renovation. For starters, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield have been let go (they’ll last air in January), and the “Who Killed Sydney?” mystery is being wrapped up in December. Then, in addition to Heather Locklear’s Amanda, several new characters will be introduced and the show will take on a lighter, more fun vibe. Here, in an exclusive interview, exec producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer explain why they’re fixing a series that many (myself included) felt wasn’t broken and tease what’s ahead for Melrose 2.0 3.0. Scoop: 'Vampire Diaries,' 'Melrose Place' picked up!

melrose-vampire-diaries_lThis just in: Sources confirm that The CW has picked up The Vampire Diaries for a full season and Melrose Place for, well, a sorta-full season.

The back-nine order for Diaries was a no-brainer. The Kevin Williamson-produced thriller scored The CW’s best premiere ratings ever and has been a consistent demo dynamo on Thursday night.

Melrose, meanwhile, has been a ratings misfit, which explains The CW’s decision to pick up only five additional episodes instead of the typical nine. Of course, that number could go up if Heather Locklear is able to work her ratings magic next month.

Thoughts?

Question: Is it at all possible that Shonda Rhimes would bring Isaiah Washington back to Grey’s Anatomy for even one episode now that T.R. Knight has left the show? —Ben
Ausiello:
Listen to me very carefully, because I’m only going to say this once: Never. Gonna. Happen. But Washington kinda-sorta gets a shout-out in this week’s episode when Owen-lovin’ Cristina utters three shocking words: “I miss Burke.”

Question: Sounds like you’ve already seen this week’s Grey’s, so I’ve got a Q: Any good Mer-Der scenes? —Megan
Ausiello:
Nothing stands out on the Mer-Der front, but there’s a memorable Mer-Cristina-Alex scene at the end that will have you crying and laughing (and in that order).

Question: Any Grey’s scoop? —Sharon
Ausiello:
You already know that someone gets fired in this week’s episode. But what you may not know is that someone gets fired next week, too!

Question: Julie Benz just Twittered a photo of a guy she says will be part of a big reveal in the Dexter season finale. What can you tell us about this? —Matt
Ausiello:
Here’s what I can tell you: If this guy is who I think he is, fans are not going to be happy.

Question: Jenny is so boring on Gossip Girl. Please tell me she will become mean. —Juliana
Ausiello:
Mean enough to drive her BFF away. I hear Jenny and Eric’s relationship will suffer big time due to her new “Queen Bee” status. READ FULL STORY
