Tony Scott: 'Numb3rs' star David Krumholtz pens moving tribute to late producer

From 2005 through 2010, for six seasons, actor David Krumholtz and Rob Morrow starred on CBS’ Numb3rs, which followed mathematics genius Charlie Eppes (Krumholtz) and his F.B.I. brother Don (Morrow) as they worked together solving crimes. A solid hit on Friday nights, Numb3rs will likely be best remembered as filmmaker Tony Scott’s first TV series, with his older brother Ridley, through their company Scott Free Productions.

In the wake of Tony Scott’s tragic passing Sunday night due to an apparent suicide, Krumholtz posted a heartfelt remembrance of his former exec producer via Twitter. “He was wild and big and crazy and uncontrollable and he gave it his all, every moment, because he believed in his crew, his cast, and the show,” Krumholtz writes. “It saddens me that something inside him told him to take his incredible life spirit away from us, from the film making community.” Check out the full tribute below:  READ FULL STORY

Question: In honor of Neil Patrick Harris being cast in the Smurfs movie, you should give us some big scoop. It’s what the Smurfs would want. —Riina
Ausiello:
Actually, I just conducted a straw poll in Smurf Village and turns out what the Smurfs really wanted was me, not NPH. All kidding aside, I really did conduct a poll. And I won. By a landslide. Seriously. Moving on… here’s your big scoop: My magazine column is movin’ on up to the News & Notes section beginning with this week’s issue (on sale Friday). Someone please start a congratulatory thread in the comments section so I don’t have to.

Question: The latest we’ve heard about Tony and Ziva on NCIS is Shane Brennan stating that their relationship will remain status quo. Please tell me they’re not ending Tiva? —Jamie
Ausiello:
Strange. That seems to contradict what I’m hearing. According to my hairy NCIS mole, the Jan. 26 episode finds Tony and Ziva hopping a plane to the City of Love. That’s right, Tiva takes on Paris! And would you believe the hotel screws up their reservation and they end up sharing a room together? What are the odds?!

Question: Your Bones scoop last week was crap. The promos already gave away Booth’s nude scene. Got any legitimate scoop? —Barry

Question: House writer Tommy Moran tweeted that episode 14 is big for Cuddy. My question for you is how big? —Anna
Ausiello:
So big that I hear Cuddy will be sharing her bed with two different people by the end of the hour.

Question: I feel an urge to poison my liver with a bottle of 150-buck Russian vodka after the rumor I just heard regarding episode 14 of House. Cuddy and Lucas are going to have sex? Seriously? What does your mole say about it? Can I head to the liquor store? Should I buy some Valium just in case? —Andie
Ausiello:
I hope you’re sitting down Andie because I have some earth-shattering news for you. Cuddy and Lucas have already had sex. Lots of it. That’s what boys and girls do when they’re in a romantic relationship. Now, as far as the Feb. 8 episode goes, all I’ll say is that Cuddy does, in fact, have a sexual encounter.

Question: I need some House scoop! —Raymond
Ausiello:

Question: Is Izzie really pregnant on Grey’s Anatomy? —Elle
Ausiello:
I’ll say this: ABC’s promo gurus are very sneaky! While we’re on the subject of Katherine Heigl, sources confirm to me exclusively that she’s taking another leave of absence from Grey’s — but this time her reasons are personal, not professional. Heigl will be going on a belated maternity leave to spend some QT with new daughter Naleigh. As a result, Izzie will be MIA for another string of episodes (most likely in early 2010.)

Question: Please tell me something will happen soon on Grey’s Anatomy that will make me stop hating the Chief! —Ann
Ausiello:
Would the sight of him falling off the wagon do the trick? ‘Cause that’s what happens at the end of this week’s episode.

Exclusive: 'Numb3rs' fans can count on closure

Numbers-Morrow-show_lCBS’ decision cut Numb3rs‘ episode count from 22 to 16 is the clearest sign yet that the CBS procedural’s current sixth season will likely be its last. That’s the bad news. Question: It’s great to see Jesse Spencer getting a powerful storyline on House. Any news on how he’ll cope without Cameron? —Angela
Ausiello:
Not well. In the Nov. 23 episode — the first sans Jennifer Morrison as Cameron — he loses it and punches House in the face! “Chase is very clearly off his game,” says a House insider, “and struggling with the loss of Cameron.” What prompts the fisticuffs? Apparently, Doc Crankypants unfavorably compares him to his far prettier, smarter wife, and Chase blows his top and decks him!

Question: Jesse Spencer has been amazing in the current arc on House, but I’m worried this storyline is setting up his eventual exit from the show a la Jennifer Morrison. Any word from your mole? —Carol
Ausiello:
My mole assures me that you’re just being paranoid. Jesse’s staying put. (For now at least.) READ FULL STORY
