James Franco, Martin Freeman, and Amy Adams to close out 'SNL' year

James Franco, Martin Freeman, and Amy Adams will be the final three Saturday Night Live hosts of the year, NBC announced Thursday. Franco will host the Dec. 6 show with Nicki Minaj as musical guest.

The following week, Hobbit and Sherlock star Freeman will be accompanied by Charli XCX. Adams will host the final show before Christmas Dec. 20 with musical guest One Direction, so look out for screaming teens around 30 Rock that week. READ FULL STORY

'The Sing-Off' elder statesmen slay One Direction cover -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Your favorite mom-and-pop a cappella competition show is back in less than two weeks, and it’s time to get ready for the doo-wop.

The Sing-Off‘s unique sound is a mix of old and young, classic and new; and this exclusive clip of the premiere episode, airing Dec. 9, is the show at its most endearing. Street Corner Rennaissance, the oldest group in the competition, manages to even out-charm those 1D moppets, putting a soulful spin on One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” in their debut performance.

Khloe Kardashian calls One Direction 's--ty,' and 8 other backstage 'surprises' at 'The X Factor'

SPOILERS FOLLOW! After boy band extraordinaire One Direction performed twice inside The X Factor‘s Xanadome to promote their new album Take Me Home – and their fans’ piercing screams effectively liquified my eardrums — they happily bounded backstage to speak with the press, along with judges Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, and Demi Lovato, and co-hosts Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian Odom. Judge L.A. Reid skipped almost all press — though it was unclear whether he was licking his wounds from the loss of contestant Jason Brock or celebrating that his other two contestants Vino Alan and Tate Stevens came in third and first in the vote tally.

Speaking of that vote tally, the decision of The X Factor to reveal the voting order — seemingly for the first time in American reality competition show history — was topic A for most everyone.
