Anarchy reigns in new trailer for E!'s 'The Royals'

E!’s first ever scripted drama series, The Royals, follows Elizabeth Hurley’s Queen Helena as she does her very best to protect her royal family’s image. But as can be seen in the series’ first official trailer, this is one monarchy that can’t quite stay out of the tabloids.

With a daughter who’s making bad wardrobe choices and a son who’s making bad life choices, Queen Helena has her hands full in the new series from One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn. Somehow, Joan Collins will also fit into the mix.

Valerie Cherish wants another take in new 'The Comeback' teaser

THE-COMEBACK.jpg

After nine years off the air, The Comeback is coming back to town.

HBO released a brief teaser lauding the series return of the 2005 comedy about aging Hollywood D-lister Valerie Cherish (Lisa Kudrow) and her aim for a return to glory.

While it seems that Cherish gained a modicum of reality-television-derived fame in the first season, the teaser implies that Cherish is still pushing for resonance in a swarm of paparazzi to the chants of “Give her another take!” It is yet another piece of meta commentary on the fact that HBO decided to give the critically acclaimed show another “take” nearly a decade after its cancellation.

The Comeback is set to return in November with a six-episode limited series.

Sounds like he’s already familiar with Peter Capaldi’s work! Check out the new trailer for Doctor Who‘s upcoming eighth season below:

'Matador' First Look: Gabriel Luna leads a dangerous double life -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

In El Rey’s next original series Matador, Gabriel Luna plays a star soccer player — nicknamed “Matador” — who is using his athletic career as a cover for his life as a covert operative working for the CIA, a secret that no one knows about. And an identity crisis inevitably ensues.

Judging by the first look at the series in the teaser below, Matador’s sure to be an action-packed drama: In the 30-second promo alone, we see lots of running (both toward soccer balls and, presumably, away from bad guys), fights, bloodied hands, and guns. Who knew soccer players led such dangerous lives?

Matador was created by Roberto Orci, Dan Dworkin, Jay Beattie, and Andrew Orci for Robert Rodriguez’s new El Rey Network and stars Nicky Whelan, Neil Hopkins, Alfred Molina, and Tanc Sade. The new series premieres July 15 at 9 p.m. ET.

'The Leftovers': Walt Whitman's words fuel latest teaser -- VIDEO

The latest teaser for HBO’s upcoming series The Leftovers is here, and it took a page from Breaking Bad‘s book by using some of Walt Whitman’s poetry in its narration.

The Leftovers, a drama about 2 percent of the world’s population suddenly disappearing, is from Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof’s first foray back into television after the hit island-based series ended in 2010. Lindelof created the series, along with Tom Perrotta, who wrote the book — also called The Leftovers — the show is based off of. READ FULL STORY

Millions go missing in HBO's 'The Leftovers' teaser -- VIDEO

People mysteriously disappear in HBO’s upcoming series The Leftovers – a lot of people.

“Two percent doesn’t sound like much,” a narrator tells us as images of crowds around the world flash across the screen. “But two percent of the entire planet, of every person on it, that’s more than the world’s ten largest cities combined.” That’s the amount of the world’s population that suddenly disappears one day, setting the series into motion — including a really cute baby we see briefly in the trailer, only to find it missing seconds later.

'Mad Men' teaser: Time for a 'Breakdown'? -- VIDEO

Not everything about Mad Men is retro in the latest teaser for the first part of season 7. The clip shows the Mad crew slo-moing through an airport in an era where air-travel still represented a certain amount of luxury — but the accompanying song comes from British soul singer Alice Russell, who hadn’t even been born when Don and Roger were still ogling stewardesses flight attendants. The song, “Let Go (Breakdown),” is hardly a year old. (Will it irk Matthew Weiner that Russell’s tune was already co-opted by The Blacklist? Yes. Yes it will.)

Still, “Let Go” does capture a certain vibe that suits AMC’s drama, and its cryptic lyrics evoke possible themes as the show enters a crucial season of change: “I’m familiar Jenny / Missed them signs / I bare my positions / Flip over time.”

Watch it below, and make of it what you will. READ FULL STORY
