'The Real Housewives of NYC': Season 6 salary dispute nearly over, conversations with cast moving toward deal

It seems the ladies of The Real Housewives of New York City are nearly back in business with cable network Bravo after a salary dispute that threatened to shut down the show as it heads into its sixth season.

Bravo won’t confirm that the deals are done, but sources told EW that the six-member cast — Ramona Singer, Carole Radziwill, LuAnn de Lesseps, Heather Thomson, Sonja Morgan, and Aviva Drescher — will likely sign a deal soon and “conversations are moving in that direction.” Us Weekly is reporting the women have “agreed to return for a sixth season,” while Deadline is reporting that they have signed their contracts.

Few details are available yet, but it’s likely the housewives received pay increases. Early reports from the negotiations hinted that Bravo would possibly more forward on the show without some — or all — of the castmembers, if a deal could not be worked out. The cast was set to begin production on the show’s sixth season last week, but they didn’t show up as a negotiation tactic.

UPDATED: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and Dancing With the Stars competitor Lisa Vanderpump is expected to return to the ballroom Monday after fainting at a rehearsal this week for Dancing with the Stars, a source close to the show tells EW.

Vanderpump, 52, is paired with newcomer pro Gleb Savchenko on season 16 of DWTS. Last week, the pair avoided landing in the bottom two of the competition, but a lackluster performance meant they were still “in jeopardy.”

Adrienne Maloof doesn't attend 'Real Housewives' reunion taping, isn't coming back next season -- VIDEO

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion show is going to be missing one side of the story.

In a preview clip of the two-part reunion (which, don’t worry, will still have plenty of bombshells and crying), Andy Cohen announced that Adrienne Maloof, who finalized her divorce from Dr. Paul Nassif a few months ago, declined to participate in the reunion special – and that she won’t be returning to the show at all next year. This is on the heels of the news that Camille Grammer won’t be returning for the fourth season either.

“This season was hard on Adrienne – as you all know – a secret about her family was revealed by Brandi [Glanville] and from that moment on, Adrienne refused to speak directly about it,” Cohen explained. “We know that frustrated all of you in the audience, it frustrated all of us too…Not only is she absent tonight, but she won’t be on the show next season. [dramatic pause] Adrienne Maloof’s final act as a Housewife is not showing up tonight.”

Bloop! NeNe Leakes gives Betty White wine-tossing tips -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Considering that Betty White has nearly 70 years of experience in the entertainment industry, and The New Normal star NeNe Leakes is still establishing herself as an actress, you’d think White would be the only one doling out tips during their meeting of the minds. But Leakes, a reality TV pro who competed on The Celebrity Apprentice and currently appears on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, has one up on White in the dramatic art… of throwing drinks in others’ faces.

For two new, Housewives-studded episodes of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers tomorrow night (the second features Beverly Hills‘ Adrienne Maloof, Camille Grammer, and Kyle Richards), Leakes pays White a visit, and hilarity ensues. Watch EW’s exclusive clip below. READ FULL STORY »

'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' promo: Ice, ice baby -- VIDEO

Last year, the profile of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was certainly raised by its spiraling characters — Taylor Armstrong, whose husband Russell committed suicide just before the show’s second season began, and former child star Kim Richards, who checked herself into rehab (for the second time) midway through the season. With the news of star Adrienne Maloof’s contentious divorce, season 3 seems primed to reach another fever pitch. Not that you’d know from the chilling promo for season 3.

Underscored by Alex Clare’s appropriately ominous and undulating “Whispering,” the teaser shows the ladies gliding through “sunny” Beverly Hills, transforming it into a veritable tundra with their ice-queen attitudes. “Who will care for the fallen?” beseeches Clare. If the upcoming season is half as tantalizing as this spot implies, probably a lot of people. Though the ladies would be well advised to balance out that ice with a little fire now and again. Watch below.

Camille Grammer returns to 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' -- UPDATE

Camille

After exiting The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills last month, Camille Grammer has changed her tune and will be appearing on the show next season after all, the star confirmed to E! Grammer insisted that her departure as a series regular was her own decision because she “didn’t want to expose [her] personal life so much anymore” and wanted to focus on raising her children.

With that in mind, it seems Grammer — who documented the fallout of her divorce from actor Kelsey Grammer on Housewives — will be scaling back her filming time next season. She’ll have cameos in a number of episodes, including an appearance at former nemesis Kyle Richards’ birthday party last weekend and several more set-ups to come.

When EW reached out to Bravo, the Housewives network declined to comment.

EW has confirmed that Real Housewives of Atlanta star Sheree Whitfield will no longer be with the show after this season. The news first broke yesterday when Whitfield tweeted, “Yes it is official I’m leaving Real Housewives of Atlanta. I enjoyed my time working with everyone affiliated with the show.”

Whitfield explained to WetPaint, “The direction the show is going in is no longer a fit for my lifestyle. I’m tired of the fighting and the cattiness.” She added, “I want to be part of something that empowers and inspires women to not only be healthy, but to treat themselves with respect. I wish the rest of the women the best of luck.”

'Glee': 'Real Housewives' NeNe Leakes to guest as Sue's rival

Sue Sylvester will meet her match in an upcoming episode of Glee — and if the casting is any indication, it’s going to be a fierce battle for domination.

NeNe Leakes, from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, is set to play Roz Washington, the school’s synchronized-swim team coach and Sue’s latest rival, EW has confirmed. As Gleeks saw in the preview for January episodes, the just-returned Sam (Chord Overstreet) will join the synchronized-swim team in the second half of the season.

Leakes has already filmed her first episode and there is no word on what episode she is set to appear in next, according to Fox. Although, Leakes tweeted earlier that she would return to the Glee set after the holidays.

Cast members Chris Colfer and Lea Michele also talked excitedly about Leakes’s role during their appearance Bravo’s Watch What Happens: Live! “We literally raided her trailer,” Michele told host Andy Cohen.

Andy Cohen has been bringing “the 411″ on all things Bravo from his boozy late night talk show, Watch What Happens Live, since 2009. But as many a dedicated Housewives fan will tell you, two nights a week of NeNe Lekes is simply never enough. Bravo announced on Monday that beginning Jan. 8, 2012, Watch What Happens will air five original episodes a week, making it the only daily live show on late night television. Fun fact: It is also the only daily live show on late night television that prominently features a turtle named after a perpetually drunk New York socialite.  READ FULL STORY »
