Roseanne accuses Chuck Lorre, Ashton Kutcher of joke theft

Roseanne Barr is at it again.

Here, “it” refers to a long, vitriolic Twitter rant directed at someone from the comedian’s past. Back in July, ex-husband Tom Arnold was the focus of Roseanne’s wrath. Yesterday, she turned to a trifecta of targets: Ashton Kutcher, Two and a Half Men, and Chuck Lorre, the CBS sitcom’s creator — who got his big break when he was hired as a supervising producer on Barr’s ’90s hit Roseanne.

On Friday, Barr discovered that Thursday’s episode of Men featured Kutcher delivering a raunchy joke about being 91 years old: “I’d imagine that you’re wet in the places you used to be dry, and dry in the places you used to be wet.” The line is similar to one Barr has been telling since at least 2006, though in her case, it refers to the effects of menopause: “I’m wet where I’m supposed to be dry and dry where I’m supposed to be wet.”

The only truly shocking thing that could have happened at Comedy Central’s Roast of Roseanne is if no one came away deeply offended.

This, after all, is the woman who enraged an entire baseball stadium (and afterward, much of the country) two decades ago with her brutal performance of The Star-Spangled Banner, and she most recently provoked outrage by wishing cancer on people who eat at Chik-fil-A, the company that has faced a boycott over the anti-gay views of its owners.

Needless to say, Roseanne Barr has never played nice, so neither did her roasters.

Fair warning: Prepare to mainline a little bile.
