'The Glades,' 'Burn Notice,' 'Covert Affairs,' and 'House': Find out what's next in the Spoiler Room
Summer is in full swing here, as you can tell from the slate of shows on tap this week. And it’s going to be a pretty solid week, Roomies! I’m particularly excited about The Glades and Burn Notice, the subjects of your two pieces of big scoop this week.
Be sure to send me requests for your favorite summer shows via email: You can do so by emailing email@example.com. And, as always, I can be found trolling Twitter @EWSandraG.
‘BURN NOTICE': THREE BURNING QUESTIONS, ANSWERED!
The new season of Burn Notice is upon us, readers, and it’s going to be a good one! But it seems I’ve been inundated with your inquiries about this season more than ever, and I’m happy to help! So I’ve plucked out three of the most frequent questions and posed them to Jeffrey Donovan: READ FULL STORY
It’s hot in New York right now. Not awful… but getting there. And watching the premiere of Leverage, where the team heads to Alaska for a case, not only made me wildly jealous but provided just the escape I was craving. That’s summer TV for you! And we’re gearing up for the bulk of it, readers. So send in your scoop requests to firstname.lastname@example.org (that’s two r’s) or Tweet them to me @EWSandraG. I’m also accepting random questions about finales, questions for EW staffers, and your general TV musings. (I read them all when I run out of TV to watch, which happens more often than you think.) Thanks, as always, Roomies!
‘HOUSE': CHASE AND THIRTEEN: IS IT ON?
There’s so much change going on at House, it’s both terrifying and a little exciting. Exciting because there’s no way to predict how the post-Cuddy world will shift this show. One option currently being explored? The advancement of the Thirteen/Chase chemistry we’ve all picked up on. READ FULL STORY
Ed Asner defies all Hollywood rules about aging — specifically the one that says age and the ability to snag roles are inversely proportional. At 81, he’s working enough to make even his former Mary Tyler Moore co-star Betty White a little envious (and he’s hoping to reunite with the equally prolific senior citizen sometime soon as well). To wit: He’s spending this summer appearing as investment guru (and Office finale star) Warren Buffett in HBO’s movie Too Big to Fail (airing Monday at 9 p.m.), shooting a guest arc on USA’s guilty-pleasure hit Royal Pains, prepping a half dozen other movies, touring the country with his one-man show FDR, and even finding time to fly to suburban New Jersey this weekend to star in a play written by a friend’s teenage son. (Seriously. You can buy tickets here.) The erstwhile Lou Grant chatted with EW about all that — and the possibility of reprising the voice role of Carl Fredricksen in a sequel to the 2009 animated gem Up. READ FULL STORY
Happy Friday, Roommates! Lots of scoop in TV land (the best land of them all) this week, so I won’t keep you long. Just a reminder to send your scoop requests/musings/Fringe theories/flattery to email@example.com. You can also find me on Twitter @EWSandraG. See you again same time Tuesday! READ FULL STORY
Editor’s note: This week’s Spoiler Room is rated PG-13 for references to male reproductive organs and discussions about Neal Caffrey’s upcoming philandering on White Collar. You’ve been warned — and likely enticed to continue reading because your filthy mind sustains itself on risque scoop. (One of us! One of us!)
For the PG set, we also have Bones scoop straight from executive producer Stephen Nathan, a relationship-related Glee tease, much more.
Send all scoop requests and complaints about decency standards to firstname.lastname@example.org or Tweet them to me at @EWSandraG.
‘THE BIG BANG THEORY”S BIG ROAD TRIP
The first thing to escape Mayim Bialik’s mouth when asked about The Big Bang Theory’s upcoming Jan. 20 episode, “The Love Car Displacement,” is a soft giggle. READ FULL STORY
In what marks her first post-24 gig, the actress has signed on to guest star in the June 10 episode of the USA Network smash Royal Pains as Newberg’s stepdaughter (Christine Ebersole).
“I play a girl who does yoga on diet pills,” Rajskub announced earlier today via Twitter.
Pains‘ second season kicks off June 3.
Oscar winning actress Marcia Gay Harden has landed a multi-episode arc on Royal Pains, sources confirm to me exclusively. She’ll play Dr. Elizabeth Blair, a surgeon, board member of Hamptons Heritage Hospital, and an adversary-turned-mentor to Jill (Jill Flint). Harden, who last year added a Tony to her enviable awards chest for her tour de force performance in God of Carnage, first appears in Pains‘ season 2 premiere on June 3.
Expect some major fireworks in the Hamptons this summer.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Trauma actress Anastasia Griffith is joining the cast of Royal Pains in the major recurring role of Dr. Emily Peck, a no-nonsense MD and a potential business rival of Hank’s (Mark Feuerstein). READ FULL STORY
