'Orphan Black': Creator John Fawcett explains that big [SPOILER]

[SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Saturday’s episode of Orphan Black.]

Season 2 of Orphan Black claimed a major victim tonight when Dr. Aldous Leekie met his untimely demise by the most unlikeliest hand of all. After losing a Dyad power struggle with proclone Rachel, Leekie fled the institute, only to be stopped by a distraught Donnie. Donnie was so upset about his wife’s…ahem…”probing” that he quit emphatically. Only one problem: When he quit, he also accidentally discharged the handgun he was holding, which splattered the doctor’s brains all over the car windows. In our weekly post-episode Q&A, co-creator John Fawcett explains the decision to kill Leekie (played by Matt Frewer), as well as Rachel showing some actual emotion, going for big laughs in rehab, and the twisty-turny relationship that is Cosima and Delphine (or Cophine, for short). 'Orphan Black': Creator John Fawcett on Helena's big make-out scene

[SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Saturday's episode of Orphan Black.]

ROAD TRIP! Sister clones Sarah and Helena were on the move in the latest episode of Orphan Black, which led to one hilarious sing-along scene as Helena channeled Betty, Veronica, and Jughead with her rendition of The Archies’ “Sugar Sugar.” But then the freak got even freakier, heading into a bar where she got it on with a tow trucker named Jessie (played by Suits star and OB fan Patrick J. Adams). We spoke with Orphan Black co-creator John Fawcett to get the scoop on an episode that provided doses of both humor and intrigue, as Sarah uncovered a key piece of intel from…Rachel’s father?

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: So, you realize there is totally a Sarah and Helena road trip spin-off sitcom to be had here if you want.
JOHN FAWCETT: [Laughs] We wanted to put Sarah and Helena together on the road: the camping, the sing along in the truck, those were all elements I was hoping to get into season 1 that just didn’t happen. Because I just think the two of them are really hilarious together and really fun. So I’m really glad we got the opportunity to put the two sisters together and have a little bonding time and mend a few fences. READ FULL STORY

And that spy happens to be none other than Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. So, how’s it going so far down in Atlanta, Robert? “You feel like you never left,” says Kirkman. “Everyone’s happy to be back together, so it’s been pretty great and everybody’s bringing their A game still, 5 years in. We’re doing new and different and crazy and exciting things and now I think the atmosphere is that we can’t wait until we can start sharing things with people and start showing things to people because we’re really excited about what we’re doing here. We think we’re making another magical season.” READ FULL STORY

'Orphan Black': Creator John Fawcett breaks down the latest episode (including clone sexy time!)

[SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Saturday's episode of Orphan Black.]

Why, Paul, you naughty boy! And naughty in more ways than one. Tonight’s Orphan Black episode was filled with people making big moves — sexual and otherwise. Like Rachel’s new monitor, for instance. That’s right, after bring told by Rachel that he needed to pick a side, Paul swooped into action — framing Felix for murder and then doing the do with Rachel while two of her fellow clones (Sarah and Helena) watched. Kinky! Elsewhere, Dr. Leekie ignored orders from Rachel to shut down Cosima’s stem cell treatments, Gracie paid dearly for trying to kill Helena, and Cal proved that there is some mystery and intrigue in his past as well. We caught up with Orphan Black co-creator John Fawcett to talk all about tonight’s episode. READ FULL STORY

'The Walking Dead': First look at Andrew Lincoln in season 5

'Orphan Black': Creator Graeme Manson on that shocking clone reunion

[SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Saturday’s episode of Orphan Black.]

Reunited and it feels so good…if your definition of feeling good involves being bound in a shower while your crazy clone assassin sister in a bloody wedding dress caresses you with a giant knife, that is. That’s right, Sarah was face to face again with Helena (whom she thought she had shot to death), and in Rachel’s apartment of all places. Then again, Helena did kill Daniel for her, who appeared ready to do some serious damage to Sarah himself, so, like, where’s the gratitude? Anyway, it was a creepy, chilling scene, and now Orphan Black co-creator Graeme Manson tells us all about it in our weekly post-episode react. Also up for discussion: Alison in rehab! Mrs. S. having sexy time with Carlton! Intel on Rachel’s parents! And the Proletheans making a startling discovery. READ FULL STORY

[SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Saturday’s episode of Orphan Black.]

The chase is on! Tonight’s episode of Orphan Black featured a reunited Sarah, Kira, and Felix on the run. And that run led to a cabin in the woods occupied by none other than…Kira’s father! Turns out he’s an old flame named Cal that Sarah scammed back in her grifter days. Meanwhile, Cosima pored over the video diaries of another clone named Jennifer Fitzsimmons who seemed to be suffering from the same respiratory illness that she is. In the serious bummer department, it turns out Jennifer just died from it three days prior. (Gulp!) And in the serious cliffhanger department, Rachel’s henchman Daniel showed up and took Sarah at gunpoint, but the episode ended with their car being plowed into by another vehicle. (Double gulp!) We spoke with Orphan Black co-creator Graeme Manson to get the inside scoop on everything that went down in tonight’s episode. And click on the video at the end to see more of new clone Jennifer’s video journal that you did not see on the show! READ FULL STORY

'The Walking Dead': Norman Reedus says season 5 will be 'completely insane'

It is about that time when actors for The Walking Dead are reassembling back in Atlanta to begin work on season 5 of the AMC zombie drama. With that in mind, we caught up with Daryl Dixon himself, Norman Reedus, recently and asked how much creator Robert Kirkman and showrunner Scott M. Gimple had told him about what to expect coming up. “A bit,” says Reedus. “Those guys are very good at telling you a bunch of stuff, and you sit there for an hour and you walk away and go, ‘What the hell did he just say? What’s going on?’ They’re very good at masking what they want to tell you.” (As someone that has interviewed both men several times, I can certainly attest to that.) READ FULL STORY

[SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Saturday’s episode of Orphan Black.]

Sarah Manning was finally reunited with both her daughter Kira and her foster mother Mrs. S tonight on Orphan Black, but they did not have much time to celebrate as Siobhan’s former friends turned on them for cold, hard cash. But they were left cold, hard, and dead after S got through with them. Elsewhere, Cosima met Rachel for the first time, and Alison made the painful discovery that husband Donnie was her monitor — as opposed to best friend Aynsley, whom she let die. (Whoops!) We spoke with star Tatiana Maslany to get her take on Orphan Black’s second episode of season 2. READ FULL STORY

'Orphan Black': The creators discuss the latest episode and explain how Helena is still alive

In last week’s Orphan Black premiere, we found out that Ukranian clone/clone assassin Helena was still alive after being shot in the heart by twin sister Sarah. But how? We got our answer this week. [SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Saturday night’s episode of Orphan Black.]

What is a mirror twin? Why is Cosima working at the Dyad Institute? How come Mrs. S is all of a sudden killing people? And why finally let Alison in on the secret that husband Donnie is her monitor? We spoke to Orphan Black creators John Fawcett and Graeme Manson to break down all of that from tonight’s episode and more.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Let’s start with Aynsley’s funeral and Alison seeing that text to Donnie leading to the light bulb going off in her head that’s he’s her monitor. Did you guys debate how long you wanted to keep her in the dark on this matter?

JOHN FAWCETT: The audience is ahead because the audience at the end of season 1 knows. There’s a big reveal right at the end of episode 10 where Donnie leaves the house and jogs down the street and gets into the car and we reveal to the audience that Donnie has of course been a lying bastard and is her monitor all along. And Aynsley is dead and Alison is burying all of this guilt. I think we realized that we had to reveal it to Alison quite quickly or quite early in the season and this seemed like a fun place to do it. Right in a public spot.

GRAEME MANSON: We didn’t want Alison too far behind for too long. READ FULL STORY
