'Smallville,' 'Supernatural,' 'Burn Notice,' 'The Killing': Find out what's next in the Spoiler Room

What a lovely day it is for television news, Roomies!

I’ll keep today’s usually-rambly intro short: You want scoop? Ask! All you have to do is email me at spoilerroom@ew.com or find me on Twitter (@EWSandraG), where you will see I’ve already started celebrating Supernatural‘s upcoming Western episode (see below for scoop!). Don’t see yours below? Come back Friday; there’s a good chance it might be there then.

Enjoy!

‘SMALLVILLE’: BOOSTER GOLD’S BIG ARRIVAL … AND BIG EGO

Smallville‘s better-than-ever farewell season continues Friday with the appearance of Booster Gold and the Blue Beetle/Jaime Reyes in an episode that will have both fans of the mythology and beloved Clois squealing in delight. As teased in previews, the episode indeed features an iconic phonebooth transformation (but not into the full tights-and-cape). The moment is all you’d hope it to be, but what got this nerd really excited? The steps that were taken toward creating a critical part of mythology: our hero’s name. Also great: Lois’ interactions with Jaime, Clark’s almost child-like reaction to Booster douche (who is actually as frustrating as he his hilarious), and the arrival of clumsy Kent. Take it all in, Smallville fans, because we’re in the homestretch. Luckily, the show’s been making it more than worth the 10-year investment. READ FULL STORY

FRINGE: EPS TEASE TRIPPIEST EPISODE SINCE ‘BROWN BETTY’
Full disclosure: I was originally going to preview tonight’s episode of Fringe for you, but honestly, I’m in such a pleasant mood over the renewal that I say we move on to bigger matters, like episode 19, airing April 15.

Before the big news, Jeff Pinkner and Joel H. Wyman hopped on the phone with me to tease an episode I’ve been dying to know more about ever since I heard a rumor that it would be Astrid-centered, which, it turns out, isn’t entirely the case. Oh, I’ll just let them explain. READ FULL STORY

Top TV earners: 'American Idol,' 'Two and a Half Men,' 'Desperate Housewives' top list

Forbes has tallied its annual list of the biggest TV moneymakers and, no surprise, Fox’s American Idol led the list for 2010.

Idol delivered $7.11 million every half hour last year (wow, even the padded results shows?), which was down 12 percent from 2009.

That was followed by CBS’ Two and a Half Men, with $2.89 million per half hour (which gives you an idea why few think the show is going away despite Charlie Sheen exiting). In fact, showrunner Chuck Lorre has three shows in the Top 10.

In third was another series going through some cast issues, ABC’s Desperate Housewives with $2.74 million, which has some actors in contract negotiations. Here’s the Top 10 from last year: READ FULL STORY

'Castle,' 'Parks and Recreation,' 'Detroit 1-8-7,' 'Justified': Find out what's next in the Spoiler Room

spoiler-roomImage Credit: Byron Cohen/NBC; Bob D'Amico/ABC; Prashant Gupta/FX I feel all tingly inside, Roomies — and that’s not just my body responding to that Swanson I ate for breakfast. Frankly, it’s because TV shows are coming back from their breaks (a.k.a. the cold, dark months of TV hell), and there’s a lot to be pumped about.

First up this week, we have Castle scoop, info on Detroit 1-8-7 (SAVE IT!), and what you can look forward to from Pawnee (besides a sunnier life in general) now that Parks is back. There’s also casting bit on Smallville, Chuck EP Chris Fedak responds to our cries for justice, Chris Colfer weighs in on Kurt’s return to New Directions, and much more. Eat up. Go ahead. Make a pig of yourself. All I ask is that you feed me your scoop requests in return. (E-mail them to spoilerroom@ew.com or Tweet them to me directly @EWSandraG.)

‘CASTLE’: PREPARE TO FAN YOURSELVES

It’s almost here, Castle fans (who have been begging me all week for dish on the show’s big Jan. 24th episode). Almost. Here. The smooch you’ve been waiting for. And I’m happy to say that the episode is completely worth the wait. But not so fast. Don’t start picking out china patterns for the pair just yet. While the kiss is, indeed, not a dream, you know that this is still Castle. This is still Beckett. And there’s still a very important case — the one of Beckett’s mom’s murder — being investigated. That’s all I can say. On that note, however, the kiss, in my opinion, isn’t even the best part of the episode. (You probably guessed that they wouldn’t put the best part of the episode in promos, right?) I’d say there are two better moments. The first comes before the smooch when Castle is talking with his mom about his most recent brush with death, and he admits to her (in his Nathan Fillion melt-me-into-goo voice) that his time with Beckett is “*** ****t *** ****s **y****.” And the other comes sometime after the roughly 13-second smooch. After the episode airs, be sure to check EW.com for my exclusive chat with Andrew Marlowe and Will Beall, who penned the episode. READ FULL STORY

'Big Bang Theory' dish: Howard has a choice to make, and Raj's sis comes back to town!

big-bang-theory-castImage Credit: CBSGotta love those nerds on The Big Bang Theory: They were among the first actors to walk the red carpet of the Golden Globes on Sunday, which gave us plenty of time to catch up with CBS’ top-rated comedy. First up: Simon Helberg, who gave us this fun little tease on Howard: “I know that my character is going to have to make the choice between his mother and his girlfriend. That is going to come to a head. Rick Fox is coming on. He’s playing a tall, beautiful ex of Bernadette’s.”

Here’s what Kunal Nayyar had to say about his alter-ego, Raj: READ FULL STORY

'Big Bang Theory,' 'Glee,' 'Bones,' 'House': Find out what's next in the Spoiler Room

Spoiler-Room-11311Image Credit: Richard Cartwright/CBS; Ray Mickshaw/Fox; Adam TayEditor’s note: This week’s Spoiler Room is rated PG-13 for references to male reproductive organs and discussions about Neal Caffrey’s upcoming philandering on White Collar. You’ve been warned — and likely enticed to continue reading because your filthy mind sustains itself on risque scoop. (One of us! One of us!)

For the PG set, we also have Bones scoop straight from executive producer Stephen Nathan, a relationship-related Glee tease, much more.

Send all scoop requests and complaints about decency standards to spoilerroom@ew.com or Tweet them to me at @EWSandraG.

'Big Bang Theory' scores a three-year pickup

big-bang-theory-castImage Credit: CBSExcellent news for fans of Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, Howard and Raj: CBS has renewed its top-rated The Big Bang Theory for an additional three years, extending its run through the 2013-14 season.

“It doesn’t take a theoretical physicist to see why this show is a BIG part of our comedy future,” said CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler. “From ratings to critical acclaim to pop culture buzz, it’s struck a chord on all levels. The creative genius of Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady and the on-camera talents of an amazing young ensemble have created a comedy that will entertain viewers for a long time. We’re proud to partner with Warner Bros. on another highly successful, long-running comedy.”

Theory, which premiered in September 2007, finished the 2009-10 season as the No. 1 scripted series in adults 18-49 and the No. 2 comedy among viewers. Currently in its fourth season, the sitcom made a successful transition to its new Thursday time period, and has emerged as the night’s top comedy in viewers and adults 18-49. It is averaging 13.8 million viewers (up 7 percent versus the year-ago time period) and a 4.7 rating/14 share in adults 18-49.
