We’re only one week into season/series premieres and I want to share some embarrassing figures:
4: Number of times I cried during Parenthood‘s premiere.
3: Number of dinners eaten straight out of a container/box because I was too lazy/tired to cook.
1: Times I teared up during Glee (Lea Michele’s phone call KILLED me.)
4: Times I shouted at the TV during Sons of Anarchy‘s premiere.
~22: Number of times I laughed out loud during the New Normal. (I’m guessing it was once per minute)
My point? The fall TV season is already starting off AMAZING, and it’s only going to go up from here. Can’t wait? Not to worry; I have some nice scoop to hold you over until then. Enjoy!

‘GLEE’: FIVE MINI-SCOOPS
From what I can tell, Glee fans seem a little split on the new season. (Also, the Grand Canyon is a kinda big and cookies are sorta delicious.) So, in an effort to please as many people as possible, I’ve included a little scoop for everyone below. For more, check out this Glee post from earlier this week. Enjoy (and play nice, please)!
+ WHERE’S MS. PILLSBURY!? Around. And we’ll see her quite soon, Matthew Morrison promises. In fact, he says, we’ll be seeing a lot more of Will and Emma’s home life than you might think based on the first episode. “We have never seen them actually living together, and now they’re living together this season, cohabitating under one roof,” he says. “It should be interesting. It’s not as easy as I think he thought it was going to be!”
+ SKIN ALERT: Chord Overstreet claims he has a shirtless scene in episode 3. You’re welcome.
+ MORE BIEBER ON THE WAY? It’s no secret that I fell deeply in love with Overstreet’s version of “Baby.” And he says there’s a good chance there’s more Bieber in the works! “I’m a big fan of ‘As Long As You Love Me’ right now. [I] may be doing a couple of mash-ups of some different stuff — and maybe some acoustic stuff,” he says.
+ WHEN THE TWO PUCKERMANS MEET…expect fireworks. “It’s definitely kind of shocking for them both initially,” says Jacob Artist, who says we’ll soon see Puck come face-to-face with his half-brother. “Puck has never met [my character], and I’ve never met Puck. Obviously, the confrontation — there’s a lot of tension going on…it’s definitely a touchy moment for the both of them. [The outcome] definitely affects them.”
+ LOVE TRIANGLE NO. 100000000 Glee loves love triangles. I love a good one, too. And it sounds like Puck Jr. could be involved in one of the many we’ll see this season. “Jake is definitely going to have some romantic drama going on. He’s interested in the new ladies,” Artist says. “I think [he's looking] for somebody that can balance him out. He can be a little crass — so I think [he wants] somebody that can balance him [out].” Any guesses, gang?
’90210′: 100th EPISODE SCOOP!
90210 will hit a big milestone this year — 100 episodes! That’s no small feat in TV land, and what better way to mark the occasion than with Homecoming Weekend! Showrunners Patti Carr and Lara Olsen recently gushed to me about this super-packed episode when we hopped on the phone ahead of the show’s upcoming premiere on Oct. 8.
“We get to go back and re-live a few memories.” Carr said. “And we also have things getting bigger and more out of hand. We got to the Playboy mansion, we have musical performers, and some very revealing moments for our cast.” Also expect some “fan favorites” to pop up.
But, adds Carr: “It’s not just the clip show where they all remember and come out of it unaffected. They’re all profoundly affected by what happens.”
Another treat? Denise Richards, who, as EW previously reported, will appear as an alum-turned-socialite. “There’s so much happening in the 100th episode, I don’t know how we’re going to fit it all in one episode,” says Olsen. Carr jokes: “Maybe it will be a two-part 100th episode — 99.5/100.”
‘GREY’S ANATOMY’: QUICK HITS FROM KEVIN MCKIDD
True story: I adore Kevin McKidd. Not only is he a hard-working guy — currently, he’s editing the fourth episode of the season, which he directed — but he’s a massively good teaser. And while I’m going to wait to share our full convo with you, here are some really tasty bits from our chat. (And, yes, this is a totally mean way for me to do this. But, you have to admit, it’s also a little fun — for me):
SG: Is the cheating issue from last season still hanging over Owen and Cristina this season?
KM: I think we’ve kind of blown past that in a way because the cataclysmic events of what happened, especially everything with Cristina. It’s going to come back and affect Owen as well — even though he wasn’t on the plane. In retrospect, it’s going to come back and really affect him in a big way too and in a way that we don’t expect.
SG: We know that not all of the doctors are going to be working at Seattle Grace in the first episode (which is a flashforward). Obviously you can’t say who, but is it safe to assume that Owen and Christina are still in the same place working on these issues together?
KM: That is not safe to assume…[truncated]
SG: Let’s talk about the flashbacks.
KM: I can’t really say too much because that would be giving stuff away. Flashbacks are featured heavily in episode two and may appear in other ones.
SG: Did any of the characters reactions to the crash surprise you?
KM:…the writers have kind of turned everything on its head and under duress and under stress people do act in a way out of character…

True story: I’m so excited for fall TV that I’ve been having dreams about watching season premieres. Seriously. My entire dream is me sitting on the couch, watching TV. Part of me thinks that maybe I’m clairvoyant and all the secrets of the fall season are playing out on Dream Sandra’s TV. The more likely possibility is that I need a real life. (My birthday was last week, and I’m now starting to think I wasted that wish. Damn.)

This season of True Blood has certainly had its share of twists, turns and shockers. (No, Chris Meloni! NOO!) But as per usual, it seems they’ve saved the best for last!

‘BREAKING BAD’: ANNA GUNN: SKYLAR LIVING ‘IN TERROR’
The end of last week’s premiere of Breaking Bad, Skyler found herself on the receiving end of Walt’s “forgiveness.” But the fear we saw in her eyes as he approached her was anything but fleeting, according to EMMY NOMINEE Anna Gunn. “She’s really scared of him right now,” she says. “She’s living with somebody now who terrifies her, and she can not predict what he’s going to do. And she’s truly so in terror for her children.”
Backed into a corner, Gunn teases that Skylar will begin to crack. “That’s what this season is about for her. She’s no longer able to pretend that she can control it. How I Met Your Mother: Find out how season 8 begins
Q: I am counting down the minutes until How I Met Your Mother returns in the fall — any scoop on big plot points for season 8? Thanks! — Whitney
With roughly 136,500 minutes to go, I’m excited, too, Whitney. After what I felt was one of their best seasons yet, my expectations are sky high. And executive producer Craig Thomas, who was nice enough to break down the season 7 finale for me as part of EW’s Emmy Watch, promises we won’t be disappointed.
Now, while I couldn’t squeeze too much info out of him on next season (the writers’ room is in the thick of it now!), here’s what he did share. “One little tidbit: The season premiere picks up right where we left off in May, with Ted and Victoria — a runaway bride — driving off into the sunset. Suddenly, Ted is struck by horrible guilt over the fact that he was left at the altar back in season 4 and now finds himself on the other end of that dubious equation,” he says. “So the entire premiere takes place on that day in May — a first for us, starting a season that way — and then episode two jumps us through the summer and into September.”
So will we get to see Marshall and Lily’s first day as parents? Will Ted drive Victoria BACK to her wedding? What about Barney? What about Robin? WHY ISN’T IT SEPTEMBER YET? Anyway, discuss… (Note: My countdown was based on a “start time” 1 p.m. ET on June 22 and a premiere date of Sept. 25, which is simply a guess. And if you figured that out before reading this sentence, you’re crazy.)
Fringe: Will Walter die?
So, we already know that much of next season will take place in 2036. We know that we have a mere 13 episodes to go. And we know it’s a journey we’ll be taking without the watchful eye of co-showrunner Jeff Pinkner. (J.H. Wyman will remain as the sole showrunner.) But other than that? Fringe can take us in any direction is pleases.
For John Noble, all that matters is that Walter gets a chance to right his wrongs. But is death the only way to do that? We discussed: “I think they’ve got to find a way to do it… I think they’re going to find a way to disappear him,” he says. “The storytelling mode, does it work to kill off a hero? I’m not sure that it does sometimes. You can see a person go through an enormous journey, but somewhere at the end of that journey, there’s a change — whatever the change is. It’s [usually] a change for the better, even though it may mean that person is not there.”
But he doubts the writers will, as he jokes, say, “Die, old man!” “I think that would be horrible. I think the fans would storm the citadel,” he says. “But I think it would also be really honorable and dignified if they find some way for Walter to willingly end this nonsense. But I don’t actually know how they’ll do that yet. But I believe they have to.”
Elsewhere, he also feels like the “extraordinary love affair” between Peter and Olivia needs to “become validated.” “That would be satisfying to me as an audience member. Again, not walking into the sunset, just really [reassuring us] they are in love and they need each other,” he says. Of course, he adds, “we’d know that anyway.”
Parenthood: Three teases for season 4
Jason Katims never intended for the season finale of Parenthood to feel like a series finale. (For the record, he thinks it was the wedding that gave that impression.) So we asked Katims to preview some of the great stuff coming up for the characters. And since you’ve already read about what Sarah and Mark will be facing (darn you, Ray Romano!), here’s a look at some of the others:
+ Julia and Joel: “We want to explore the addition of Victor, who’s the boy that Julia and Joel adopted. And we want to look at both the joy of what that is but also the challenges of what it’s like adopting [a child]. It’s not what they expected. They never pictured an 8-year-old. They pictured a baby. So what is that like for them? What are the challenges?”
+ Crosby and Jasmine: “We’re excited about exploring the first year of marriage between Crosby and Jasmine. We have a couple ideas for some really big storylines for them. It’s a little early to pitch those quite yet, but we’ll be really taking the show to another level.”
+ Drew: “It’s last year of high school. I have a bunch of friends who have children graduating high school, and it’s a really interesting period of time from both the parents’ point of view and the high school senior, who is ready to take off and branch out.”
