And by challenging I mean tough. And by tough I mean damn near impossible. All 12 of the nominees in the best lead and supporting actor comedy races can easily make a case for winning come Aug. 29. But only two will. So it’s with great fear and trepidation that I present you with part 3 of my pre-Emmy analysis. READ FULL STORY »

Do me a favor — heck, do us all a favor — and consult these handy cheat sheets when the official ballot drops next week. Pretty please?

'Ugly Betty' MVP Becki Newton enters virgin territory with 'Love Bites'
Image Credit: Chris Haston/NBCUgly Betty may be dead and buried — moment of silence — but the show’s scene-stealing minx, Becki Newton, will be back on the tube next fall in NBC’s promising anthology-esque comedy Love Bites (watch a preview). I caught up with Michael Urie’s acting soulmate at the Peacock’s upfront extravaganza this morning and lightly grilled her about mourning Betty, falling in Love, and reuniting with you-know-who. ATV spoilers: Hot 'Gossip,' 'Chuck' twist, and more!
THIS JUST IN: The latest episode of Ausiello TV is chucking awesome, and here’s why: It contains both an explosive (and exclusive!) Chuck/Blair clip from next Monday’s Gossip Girl and a fairly substantial scoop about the two-hour Chuck season finale (new romance—what?!). Oh, and I also break some pretty major news of my own. After spending my entire career doing everything myself—that includes fetching my lunch and dusting my Smurf collection—I finally hired a pretend full-time assistant. But that’s not the big news. This is the big news: He’s superfamous! Press play after the jump, and then post your glowing reviews in the comments section! READ FULL STORY »
Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on 'Lost,' 'Glee,' 'Sons of Anarchy,' 'Supernatural,' 'House,' and more!

Question: After the “Happily Ever After” episode of Lost, I no longer believe that Sawyer and Kate will be happening. If they were, they would have had an epiphany in the elevator scene in sideways world from the “LA X” episode. But they didn’t. Care to comment? —Caroline
Ausiello: I have no solid information to back up your theory, but I’ll admit it’s a good one. Speaking of destiny and fate and all that jazz, an unlikely romance will take shape in early May. Normally I’d tell you to start speculating in the comments section but there’s really no point. You’ll never guess this one. Trust me.
Question: Ugly Betty is ending in a week — please spoil us one last time before the finale! —Miagkaia
Ausiello: I ran into executive producer Sheila Lawrence at the show’s wrap party last week and here’s what she had to say about next Wednesday’s swan song: “Every character ends up in a good place — this is Ugly Betty after all,” she teased. “Amanda has a question answered that’s been looming since Season 2, Justin has a dream come true, and Wilhelmina quite possibly has the happiest ending of all.”
Question: Aus, I gave up EW.com for Lent. Have I missed anything huge? Or better, do you have anything to welcome me back with? —Laura
Ausiello: Hugh Laurie directs Monday’s House and, to mark the occasion, he’s giving Ask Ausiello readers this exclusive preview: “A baby goes missing from the maternity ward — you know how babies are low-jacked in the hospital these days — so the hospital is locked down until the baby is found. It’s a rather more elegant way of doing the ‘stuck elevator’ plot line.” Oh, wait, you asked for big news. Um… Dean [spoiler] [spoiler] in Supernatural‘s 100th episode next Thursday! Major 'Ugly Betty' series finale spoiler: Does this mean what I THINK it means?
Image Credit: WENN.comHere’s some (potentially) good news for Ugly Betty fans hoping for a Betty/Daniel happy ending: The show is shooting several pivotal scenes on location in London today with America Ferrera and Eric Mabius for the April 14 series finale. “They’re shooting in Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square, amongst other places,” reveals a source. The British flag on Betty’s farewell banner was a rather big clue that her new career opportunity would take her across the pond, but that doesn’t explain what Daniel is doing there. Hmm…

Question: I came home for spring break to find that my mother had sold my Smurf collection on eBay. The only thing that could make me feel better is little Glee scoop. —Blake
Ausiello: My partner tried to do the same thing with my collection. He’s now missing something very near and dear to him. Coincidence? I think not. Onto the Glee scoop, there’s an episode coming up in which Puck gets paired up with someone new — resulting in a musical tug-of-war for his attention. Guesses? Hit the comments!
Question: Please help out a worried Gleek. Your frenemy put out a spoiler that there is a seriously sad twist ahead for Puck on Glee. Can you spill anything? —Erin
Ausiello: Only that it doesn’t involve him losing a limb or a relative. “It’s Glee tragic,” clarifies executive producer Brad Falchuk. “He’s not going to lose an arm. No family member will pass away. He will get some news that is very surprising that will have a very big effect on his life.” READ FULL STORY »

Question: Hello fellow Smurf lover! Any new scoop on the upcoming season of True Blood? —Candy
Ausiello: I’m 90 percent certain this is new: Mariana Klaveno is returning as Bill’s maker, Lorena, for roughly six episodes.
Question: Do you know if True Blood‘s third season will feature Bubba? He’s not exactly a major character in the books, but I still love him. —Kristal
Ausiello: Unfortunately, Alan Ball says he couldn’t figure out a way to introduce Bubba “without it being cheesy,” adding, “I don’t know how to do it without either using an Elvis impersonator, which is cheesy, or having somebody and never seeing their face, just hearing their voice — and to me that sounds equally cheesy. So that’s just one of the casualties of the transfer from book to screen.”
Question: I want some juicy Grey’s Anatomy news, not somewhat juicy, but very juicy. C’mon you can do it! —Sarah
Ausiello: We’ll find out in an upcoming episode that a major character — one of the original Fab Five — grew up in foster care. READ FULL STORY »

Question: In honor of Neil Patrick Harris being cast in the Smurfs movie, you should give us some big scoop. It’s what the Smurfs would want. —Riina
Ausiello: Actually, I just conducted a straw poll in Smurf Village and turns out what the Smurfs really wanted was me, not NPH. All kidding aside, I really did conduct a poll. And I won. By a landslide. Seriously. Moving on… here’s your big scoop: My magazine column is movin’ on up to the News & Notes section beginning with this week’s issue (on sale Friday). Someone please start a congratulatory thread in the comments section so I don’t have to.
Question: I heard Desperate Housewives is casting a new vixen to replace Nicolette Sheridan. Any idea whom they’re looking at to play her? —Scotty
Ausiello: You’re assuming the role is female. Speaking of Housewives, MAJOR SPOILER ALERT. READ FULL STORY »

Question: Happy belated birthday! My gift to you comes in the form of a question: Got any NCIS scoop? —Joel
Ausiello: You shouldn’t have. No. Really. You shouldn’t have. But since you did, I can exclusively confirm that Rena Sofer’s feisty legal eagle — who returns in Tuesday’s episode — will be back for multiple episodes in May and “set in motion a chain of events that forces Gibbs (Mark Harmon) to make a life-changing decision,” reveals exec producer Shane Brennan. And not just any life-changing decision, either. One, he says “that will impact every member of his team.”
Question: I’ll send you some birthday cake if you give me some Supernatural scoop about the 100th episode. —Annie
Ausiello: In the milestone episode, airing April 15, “a very important character will sacrifice themselves in a suicide mission,” reveals exec producer Sera Gamble. “We definitely kept in mind that this was [an important] episode. We wanted to deliver something with real scope; it’s about the Archangel Michael. Crises will come to a head for Dean and Castiel. And you’ll see characters you never thought you’d see again.” Here’s the pan I want you to use for my cake. READ FULL STORY »

Question: What’s going on with Katherine Heigl? Is she ever going to be returning to Grey’s Anatomy? —Hannah
Ausiello: Last I heard, she’s due back on the Grey’s set at the end of the month, which means we probably won’t see Izzie again until late April. Coincidentally, that’s right around the time a very special patient will be checking into Seattle Grace: Alex’s brother! Sources confirm to me exclusively that Grey’s is currently casting the role of Karev’s estranged sibling. For those keeping score at home, this will be our first time meeting a member of Karev’s troubled clan. Look for bro to dredge up a lot of ugly family history, including that nasty business about daddy beating mommy.
Question: What’s up with the Mercy West residents on Grey’s Anatomy? Will they be sticking around next season? —PT
Ausiello: I’m fairly certain one of them won’t be. A reliable source tells me that one of the four has received his/her walking papers and will exit the show before the end of the season. Guesses? Scroll down to the comments! READ FULL STORY »
